Let's hope this gets the ball rolling for the rest of the offseason.

Lol Bowden said he should go there for Andrew Vaughn. Would be funny if that actually happened.

Haven't seen any reports on what's going back to the rangers so we'll see but at first glance seems like a good move for the chisox

Haven't seen any reports on what's going back to the rangers so we'll see but at first glance seems like a good move for the chisox RHP Dane Dunning is going to Texas. White Sox #5 prospect via MLB. Not sure if it's just him or if there are more players involved.

Not sure if it's just him or if there are more players involved. Seems fair for both sides. Dunning has good stuff with some control issues from what I've seen. Chisox ready to win now which Lynn will help with. Rangers get a guy with more team control for the future.

Let's hope this gets the ball rolling for the rest of the offseason. I wouldn't expect this. Strange financial climate. Too many teams not spending and too many teams not competing on top of that. It's going to be a slow free agency and off-season, especially since we are already expecting a delayed start to spring training due to Covid.

Ha yea I certainly don't expect things to pick up, its more of a hope than an expectation.

I'd rather gamble on someone with solid stuff and good control than electric stuff and no control.

I'd rather gamble on someone with solid stuff and good control than electric stuff and no control. I thought it was a fair deal although I don't know if I make that trade if I'm the White Sox GM. Dunning looks like a guy who can step into the rotation and be solid, which kind of fits Lance Lynn's description, although I acknowledge that Lynn is better than that. I guess I just see Lynn as a win now and next year type and Dunning as somebody who can grow with the White Sox, who have prospects still to come up who can impact. We haven't really seen what Midrigal and Vaughn can do and Luis Robert has barely scratched the surface of his potential and Jimenez should get better and better as well. Really good move for Texas. I think Dunning can pitch.

8m of it guaranteed. Eaton making that much? JBJ is going to get WAY overpaid. How much is Pillar going to get now? He's the equal, or better than Eaton.

Last year in a shortened season, Pillar was better than Eaton, but every other year Eaton is a better player than Pillar. Eaton's lifetime OBP is .360. Pillar's isn't much more than .300. That's a huge difference. Eaton is a clearly better player than Pillar.

Don't overestimate the power of a team squinting and seeing him return to maybe not the 5-win player he used to be, but a 3-4 WAR guy if he can stay healthy.

You, person I tried to quote but couldn't properly because the quoting function on this platform is all screwy, think 1/$7 million plus a team option is a lot for Eaton? Steamer projects Eaton for 1.2 WAR and JBJ for 1.4 WAR. If JBJ gets 1/$8 million plus a team option that would seem like great value to me.

Or Del Castillo of course.
