Btw, Mac looked unreal on Thursday. He is probably going to be the best qb in this class, because he is the best processor, and if the last 25 years of Peyton Manning/Tom Brady/Drew Brees tells us anything, it’s that processors win out. I know that the league changes and the Mahomes/Jackson/Allen freak show is underway. But the past few seasons have proven that if you keep the action in front of you and maintain pocket positioning, those guys struggle a bit. So far with Mac I’ve seen good zip, pinpoint accuracy, and a high end processor between the ears. Isn’t that want you want in a quarterback? I agree with the processing aspect. Regarding the 3 mentioned… Mahomes is the total package. Jackson has peaked and will just get worse especially as his contract make those around him worse and his legs slow down. Allen is to be determined; I like his work ethic though.

Lazar dropped a couple interesting factoids about Stevenson
10 forced missed tackles last game
Got up to over 20 mph on his 91 yard run in the game prior
He’s got so much wiggle for a guy his size, if he can hold on to the ball he has potential to be a stud

They say it was- in 2019 he fumbled twice with 65 carries, then only once last year in 101 carries So maybe he cleaned it up last year? Can’t be too big of a red flag

Not sure on that… he struggles under pressure, like in the SB, but so does everyone

Cam in COVID protocol due to a misunderstanding that seems like team is also at fault. Can’t return until Thursday. This is not the story… story is that Mac gets all first team reps (plus most of the others) including during a joint practice.
I don’t think it will matter with regards to who starts week one. I think the team already knows Mac is the better QB, however his knee is already bothering him and there’s legit question on whether his body is currently built to survive a season. He’s likely to sit.

I feel a little bad for Cam on this one. I'd rather roll with Mac week 1, but not a great way (or time) to lose ground.

I don't want to dwell on this too much or start a debate about vaccinations or the NFL's COVID protocols, but just wanted to point out that Cam wouldn't have to quarantine and miss practices if he had received a COVID vaccine.

www.yahoo.com/sports/madden-nfl-22-predicts-the-2021-season-164926460.htmlJust Because, Yahoo simulated the 2021 season on Madden: "In Brady's age-44 season, he threw for what would have been a record 5,548 yards with 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Brady also completed 70 percent of his passes and picked up the No. 1 seed in the NFC. ... "[Mac] Jones, the fifth QB taken in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft, didn’t manage to make it to the field as Cam Newton locked down the starting job in New England. The Patriots, who appear to have a good QB dilemma in real life, won the AFC East behind Newton’s 4,434 yards, 37 TDs and 15 interceptions. ... "In the AFC, five of the seven playoff teams were the same as last season, with division winners Jacksonville and New England crashing the party in the simulation. ... "Mahomes and Kansas City defeated Carolina 38-26. Mahomes added to his impressive trophy haul by capturing Super Bowl MVP for the second time in three seasons. ... "There were no mid-season firings during the simulation, but at the end of the season the Bengals, Rams and Washington Football Team all decided to part ways with their coaches. As mentioned earlier, the Rams offense struggled and finished tied for the league’s second-worst record, costing Sean McVay his job just three years after making the Super Bowl." Urban Meyer COTY, Mahomes MVP, Von Miller DPOY. And Tom Brady did NOT retire, but Roethlisberger, Gostowski, Gore, et al did.

You may not want to dwell on it but since you brought it up.....he actually had COVID last year, the fact that his natural immunity due to recovery doesn't allow for a waiver is ridiculous. I think people can get reinfected after a certain period of time but either way, it seems like the Pats were onboard with what Newton did thinking it was fine but the league decided it wasn’t. Very dumb but it is what it is He does put the team at a disadvantage by not being vaccinated though, and I’m saying that through a purely competitive perspective. He’s the starting QB and with the way the rules are drawn up there is no way around that conclusion

He tweaked it in the Washington game / also did you watch him get up after his slide? That’s not normal. Regardless of his knee which we can just disagree on, it’s really not all that important. He needs to transform his body kind of like Brady did. It’s going to be a struggle to make it 17 games plus.

You may want to read the study you posted again. RJP’s post is actually factually correct Part of it is publichealth.jhu.edu/2021/why-covid-19-vaccines-offer-better-protection-than-infectionHere’s the thing: regardless of what anybody thinks about covid or the vaccine, Cam is an absolute moron to not be vaccinated. He’s putting himself at a competitive disadvantage while he’s trying desperately to keep a starting job in the league and he’s willfully making the season harder on himself and the team. Do I dislike him because he’s not vaccinated? No. I think he’s probably a great guy, at least he seems that way. He’s just a dodo brain who is making his grasp on the starting job a little less firm

You may want to read the study you posted again. RJP’s post is actually factually correct You are right, I misread the study, it wasn't directly comparing unvaccined but previously infected folks with vaccinated folks. But other research suggests that vaccine immunity is stronger and longer-lasting than natural immunity.

We'll see, I'd hold my breath every time Brady thought he could run. Remember when I reviewed his college tape, it was unreal yet crazy easy. He didn't have games where he took tons of monster hits, so it's certainly is worth watching.

I don’t want to get deep into the weeds on this either so I won’t both responding - other than to say I disagree and also to say everyone should get vaccinated.
