It’s interesting to note the starting rotation for ST G1 - evo G2- Richards G3- Perez G4- Pivetta G5- Andrese G6- Erod
So if all goes according to plan it dosnt take a rocket scientist to figure that the rotation is planned to be 1- Erod 2- evo 3- Richards 4- Perez 5- Pivetta

OK. I feel compelled to ask.
Why does Cora feel compelled to lead off with Hernandez?
How is a "fastball hunter" better suited to the leadoff spot than a guy who simply gets on base? Do we really want a guy with a .300 OBP (if that against righties) leading off?
Personally, I'd lead off with Verdugo.

It’s about getting guys there ABs and innings

I like that mlb lists Downs as Jet. Can that stick? A no “Jeter” policy? Jet Downs is far cooler anyway.
(Related note: I didn’t even realize Jerry was still in the system).

Been zipping around from game to game myself since the Sox one wasn't broadcast on TV and the one theme have heard from 3 have been watching is how nice it is to have some fans in the stands, repeated over and over from announcers as different as Steve Stone and Kay in NY.
Others watched various games yet? Noticed how different stadiums done with the distancing? Some seem to let % of fans in the OF grass area figure it out themselves, while the ChiSox, who are in AZ have these chalk marked boxes distanced apart. Same with standing fans for cardinals in Florida. Saw fairly large group few shots standing together near RF. Figure league will come up with some uniform policy so all are close to the same soon.

Thought that the post above mine indicated that Hernandez was leading off, and the game wasn't on TV for me to disprove otherwise. Doesn't really change the question I'm asking. I mean, I read it in several articles and saw the quote that Cora made regarding the desire to see what it looks like.

I see the hot takes are in mid-season form already. Why is it a hot take to ask why a manager, according to what I read, would seriously consider using a guy in the leadoff spot who doesn't do well against righties as opposed to using a guy who is going to be among the best OBPs on the team? I mean, isn't that what a leadoff guy should do? Be a guy who does a good job of getting on base? Didn't think it was a exactly a radical concept I was asking about.

Do you all remember pre-2004 Derek Jeter’s comment “.....the Red Sox ALWAYS choke....” I remind my NYY loving nephew every time he brings up how great the Yankees are......biggest choke every.... take that Derek Jeter... I hope Jet Downs is a HOFer both to help the RS win a bunch more WS, but to quiet the rabble in the extended family.

Non Sox feel good story: Trey Mancini back with a hit in his first game. Amazing. I’m hoping he’s Comeback Player OTY.

Was that the inning Simpson could not get anyone out so they just stopped the inning with one out? Yup. They're being much looser with ST games this year. Can stop them early, move guys around more freely, etc. Got asked in a radio hit last week if I thought it'd be detrimental to minor leaguers that they can end games early. Can't imagine it would matter much. It's not like getting into an early March game a guy isn't just facing the other team's minor leaguers.
