Looking at the list, I'd make the following really loose predictions. As you can see, mostly to get the DSL kids into the top 50-60. Still a bit of filler in the 20-40 range, with lots of players playing themselves out of the rankings (Potts/Rosario/Hernandez/Wilson), but the promising kids not quite having the track record to replace them (as they should). 1.Mayer 2.Casas 3.Duran 4.Downs 5.Jimenez 6.Houck 7.Yorke 8.Bello 9.Seabold 10.Groome 11.Blaze 12.Mata 13.Song 14.Brainer 15.Murphy 16.Winkowski 17.Lugo
20.Valdez
30.Winkleman 31.Lopez 35.Bleis 40.McDonough 41.Hickey 44.Kavadas 45.Encarnacion 46.Ugueto 47.E.Paulino 48.Salazar 54.L.James 57.Sierra 58.Castro 59.Rosario 60.Zapete (61.J.Garcia) (62.Brunet) (63.Lira)

I'm curious Steve, why would you rank Jimenez ahead of Yorke?

Not any performance reason, just trying to make Yorke's jump more gradual - not "overreact" to a couple of hot months. But you are right, if I were to rank them for trade value, I'd clearly hold onto Yorke vs. Jimenez
But by the same token, I didn't drop Downs into the 8-9 spots, even though his season has warranted it.

Chris earlier said Aug 7 or 8, a bit late.
I just listened to the podcast, and it sounds like there will be a bunch of DSL/FCL additions to the list based on "first reports."
This is where it will be fun.

Yup, logistics.
The argument to keep Jimenez over Yorke is that Jimenez has just as much bat-to-ball ability as Yorke, is light years more athletic, and is more likely to play above-average defense at a premium position. This is even moreso if you think Yorke will need to move to LF (something a number of scouts we've talked to have thrown out there).
The argument for Yorke over Jimenez is he's showing more power than Jimenez at present (and that's still not a lot) and doesn't rely singularly on his speed like Jimenez kind of does right now.
Then there's the 2021 is a weird year caveat and the fact that both have been dinged up and it's not clear how it's affected either.
It's a close call imo. I'm leaning Yorke at the moment but think even if I stay there I'll be outvoted, which I'd be perfectly fine with.

It hasn’t been updated since 5/3. The updates should be every month. What’s going on?

They are updated monthly, you're just looking at the rankings history page where the "season opening" rankings were from 5/3. The main page has "July 2021" listed for the rankings.

For some reason this sent my brain back to days of yore when the rankings were updated multiple times per month, sometimes more than once in a week. Then Mike & the mods graduated, got jobs, got married, had kids ... :-) The updates are less often but the site has never stopped getting better!

FWIW, the move to monthly updates was intentional and part of putting a better process in place, not just a matter of having time. Also a function of multiple people having a say in the voting rather than just Mike.

Also, lowers the sort of "researcher degrees of freedom" type overreaction mistakes in addition to the other benefits mentioned.

Here are my predictions. Besides Mayer I left 2021 draft class off because I have no clue.

If Niko Kavadas in not on your list or #1 then your list is flawed, but seriously here is my top 10:
Casas Mayer Houck Duran Yorke Downs Bello Jordan Groome Jimenez
Mata was left out cause of his injury.

Thoughts on when the August update will be done for our top 60? They said it should be within the next few days or so. 7th or 8th. Maybe a bit later.

Why is "Roberto" Duran a prospect? He's a retired boxer. In all seriousness I think Mata took too big of a rankings hit. Otherwise everybody looks good to me! As usual time will tell.
Song coming back soon?

More Brandon Walter buzz. First fangraphs bumped him all the way up to their top 20, now Keith Law gets on the train (unprompted!):
A lot of helium for someone who isn't in the top 60 here, though I assume he will be with the update. Very interested to see how high he goes.

Does Keith Law really call it the Florida Man League, presumably as just a joke and not a weird mistake? He's a weird mix of jokes and maybe being a little too wound up/taking things too seriously.
