You missed the most egregious one: Justin Turner last played second base on July 21, 2019. It was the only time in the last six seasons he has played the position. EDIT: The twitter sleuths figured out that they were pretty obviously going for Trea Turner and whatever intern got assigned this release but the wrong Turner. So Turner is a finalist at 2B and SS? Interesting that they wouldn't just pick one to classify him as. It seems pretty obvious they picked the winners and told someone to round it out with other nominees. They probably tipped off all the winners by listing them first at each position...

Seeing the name Joey Gallo on the list pretty much renders the list laughable.

Here's an idea to sink your teeth into. Idiots. /photo/1 Wonder how long it took them to come up with that and how much brain power it took them. What a ridiculous thing.

PETA does not care whether it's called the bullpen. They're just hoping that people share this ~~**ridiculous story**~~ in the hopes that someone reads to the third paragraph to find out that "cows are hung upside down and their throats are slit in the meat industry, while in rodeos, gentle bulls are tormented into kicking and bucking by being electro-shocked or prodded."
Whether you care about cows being hung upside down and having their throats slit or bulls being electro-shocked into convulsive bucking is between you and your god. Either way, you're doing PETA a solid by sharing the story.

I vote for renaming the locker room to the Meat Locker.
We are carnivorous creatures no matter what PESTA thinks.
If we weren't carnivorous, cows would have no life whatsoever. Why would people raise cows for free ? They are idiots.

Did PETA say anything about renaming the Red Sox relievers as the arsonists?

Literally just agitating to get their agenda out there, which I don't mean in a loaded way necessarily but will certainly - and not necessarily wrongly here - come off as such. PETA is, as my wife so aptly put it yesterday, very extra. They know they are and that's the gimmick. It is what it is. Nothing to see here, I'd say.

Lol, c'mon man, I'm like the only one on here who doesn't think your name is Phil. Gotta take a shot even when we agree?

Lol, c'mon man, I'm like the only one on here who doesn't think your name is Phil. Gotta take a shot even when we agree? It was too easy. Here in the Philippines, the majority of food is purchased in wet markets. For the most part, people only use grocery stores for canned goods, paper products etc. Chances are, the piece of pork you are buying was oinking that morning. PETA would have zero influence here. To kill a pig, they just tie his feet and slit his throat, Chickens, they break the neck then throw them in boiling water to get the feathers off. Fish are usually still alive on ice. Happens all the time. It's life and nobody gives a crap as it should be. Ask a PETA person if he has a pure bred dog. Look at the history of dog breeding, they are so two faced.

Treatment of animals in countries like the Philippines is generally far, far more humane than it is in the US. I've been present for halal killings of sheep, which are also much more humane than what we do. It's not that people in other countries even particularly care, I think; it's just that we go so far out of our way to inflict suffering on domestic animals.

I feel like the 2020 Red Sox pitching staff was purchased at Al's Arm Barn.

Some guy with the last name Arm is rumored to be in line for the Padres pitching coach job. Arm's arm barn doesn't have that ring.
Iirc, the name bullpen came from old time billboards for Bull Durham cigarettes.

They should go ahead and also rename "pitching" to "arm job" to clear any confusion with the activity of setting a tent on the great outdoors and enjoying mother nature. They could also call it hand j... oh wait never mind.

Let's be honest here, American's view of their own morality is far different than the view of the rest of the world. At least in terms of impact, America is pretty much the most morally bankrupt country in the world and has that reputation to match.

Alright, this conversation is veering off course. Stick to the baseball side of things. Also, please note that there is now a non-Red Sox offseason thread here. We'll lock this thread soon.

Uh...
Am I missing some connection between New Hampshire and chicken tenders? Or is this as random as it seems?
Edit: Or click the link, idiot. I guess they were invented in Manch Vegas. K then.

I have traveled a bit and would have to say that depends on the morals we are talking about. Not to overly defend America as there is no defense but many many countries are lacking in certain moral areas much worse than in America.
