just took a look at Bobby Bombs stats. SSS, but i feel awful for him. Gotta be tough. Hopefully, he shows some fortitude and turns it around. Fingers crossed. Bobby: “If there are any dudes on a message board worrying about me... I gotcha. I’m ok. I’m gonna hit. That’s what I do.”

Would be nice to see Verdugo get over .200.

Good at bat, I'll take the walk.

That's a bummer, I'll take the lead though.

just took a look at Bobby Bombs stats. SSS, but i feel awful for him. Gotta be tough. Hopefully, he shows some fortitude and turns it around. Fingers crossed. The worst part is it has mostly been just terrible luck. Going into today, baseball savant has him with a xBA of .274 and xSLG of .532. Then today, he has the double and an out with an xBA of .920. Going into today he had the fifth worst BA-XBA, SLG-xSLG and wOBA-xwOBA out of batters with at least 10 balls in play. edit: He now has an xBA of .331 and xSLG of .654 and is fourth in the aforementioned categories. Bad luck, but promising signs in those stats!
Speaking of bad BABIP luck, that was a 110 mph GIDP by JDM. xBA of .690...

Can't say that Darwinzon is in my circle of trust. Wasn't hoping to see him pitch high leverage.

Can't say that Darwinzon is in my circle of trust. Wasn't hoping to see him pitch high leverage. And the ump decides to squeeze him, after having a huge strike zone the entire game.
And now the Twins get a hit off a 67 mph EV...

Phew. He got it done. I can exhale. Cora made it work.

Even so, he walks way too many guys to make me feel comfortable. I thought Cora would go to Andriese or Whitlock but he was able to save them both for tomorrow and still bridge today's game from the 6th through the 9th.

Can't say that Darwinzon is in my circle of trust. Wasn't hoping to see him pitch high leverage. He's got the arm so I need to see him continued to be used in these spots, at least early on in the season and while things are going well for the team. If they were struggling I would want someone else used in that spot.

But I feel pretty good about him when he's brought in to start a clean inning, at least, with that 16 K/9 rate. I mean, he's not likely to walk 4 guys in an inning...

The gap in defensive ability between these two teams is showing...
ADD: But Devers tho!

I humbly request a moratorium on complaining about Devers for at least 10 days. Dude is still in the middle of changing from Bruce Banner to the Incredible Hulk. Just wait until he’s, I don’t know, 25?

Barnes has slowly earned my confidence. He wasn’t even at his best today, and he still overwhelmed them.
