Richards has been painful to watch. Can’t believe we’re only down 1 right now.

Looks like the answer to Kluber vs. Richards during the offseason was...
Neither.

I wonder what Richards looks like when he isn’t broken

Think I have seen enough of this guy. 5th starter at the most, if that even.

I like CB, but what did he see in this guy? Just guessing but probably a pitcher who would’ve been their #1 starter last year when he was coming off of TJ Guy has issues at the beginning of games, I wonder if a tweak in his pregame approach is in order. Maybe have him throw longer warmups in the pen. Doesn’t seem like he’s really a deep game guy anyway since he’s pretty inefficient so no point in saving bullets

No reason to give up on the guy, just put him in a present-appropriate role.

I can't stand just giving the game away. they haven't even been close to earning those runs

I get the frustration with Richards- he has been quite frustrating to watch- I just don’t understand this narrative that I’ve seen pop up in many places that he’s never been good, or “what could Bloom possibly have seen in him?”

At some point, they've gotta think that either Houck or Whitlock is going to give them a better chance to win these games

I don't think even the most pessimistic expected him to look near this bad IF he was healthy, so maybe some hyperbolic statements come out in frustration.

I liked the signing at the time because I thought if the team was bad again and he was decent, his one-year contract would fetch a prospect at the deadline. But this is horrific. A lot of these pitches aren't close. The first pitch of the game was close to Len Barker territory. And letting that runner walk to 2B with a steal was amateur hour.

This is the first time in the season I’ve hoped for Taylor or Brice to come into the game

I think what Bloom saw was... his career performance? And the fact that he was pretty good last season?
His problem historically has been that he's been hurt. Now he's healthy but he's not performing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
