They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

I haven't paid attention to how the the new Rangers barn plays, but hoping between the warmer weather and Rangers staff we get some HRs from our boys this weekend. Dalbec getting hot, JDM and Devers grooving... One of Franchy/Hunter making some solid contact. Turn those doubles into Dingers! Unleash the long ball!!!

Dalbec looks very different in these photos (and not to nit pick, but Dalbec is at 39%).

Dalbec looks very different in these photos (and not to nit pick, but Dalbec is at 39%). If Dalbec hits .240 - .270 with a decent OBA and OPS, I really do not care how he makes his outs (strike out, fly out, or ground out). Hell, strike outs may be preferred as he would not be hitting into DPs or making quick outs. Like I said if the BA, OBP, and OPS are good then striking out might even be better as it helps drive up the pitch count for the opposing pitcher (as long as you do not have too many big K guys in the lineup although I could handle 9 guys in the lineup striking out 240 time each if they hit 40 HRs each, but that would get a little boring ....360 HRs yay, 2160 strikeouts nay).

Ummmm, Dalbec ?
That's not Dalbec. Hint, that's not a Greenville Drive hat.

Cordero is a different story....lots of strikeouts bad BA, OBP, and OPS. Five tools does not matter if none of the tools work....

Has anyone else noticed that the only changes to the 26-man roster thus far has been the 27th man for doubleheader’s, there has not been a single player that started the season on the 26-man roster go on the DL/IL list, as in no changes for injury!! The only changes were for doubleheaders. I wonder if that has ever happened in the history of the Red Sox for the first month of the season? (JD’s COVID-19 was what 2 days not an injury, so it does not count).
Good health has aided the good start.

NYY and Rays have both already lost today. It would be nice to pick up a game on each.

Seems like Yankee fans really aren’t liking the Tauchman trade. Which I’m okay with! Any thoughts on it?

Seems like Yankee fans really aren’t liking the Tauchman trade. Which I’m okay with! Any thoughts on it? From what I can gather, they're upset because they kept him on the 40-man instead of trading him earlier when he had more value. It part of the overall criticism of the FO, how they've allowed useful players - Whitlock is mentioned - to be jettisoned.

Renfroe starting vs a RHP makes me think Franchy is starting game 1 for the WooSox

Kiké is never going to learn to show a hint more patience if he keeps getting rung up on balls.

Alex Verdugo and his contract is 5,000,000,000% better than Mookoe and his contract. Not close really. I won't be convinced otherwise 🤷♂️

Please don’t squander a lead-off double in a 1-run game, guys.

The good pitching in NY proved a distraction from the slow-down on the O side. Honestly, the two walks of JDM seems like a good plan: you mix a few walks in to X, JDM, and Devers, you might immobilize this offense.

The idea is to get the runner over to 3rd anyway you can after a leadoff double, get the ball to the right side not the left.

I know putting the lead guy on is a sin, but I’d have walked Devers.
