Odds that Gonzalez, Cordero, Renfroe and Dalbec are all above Mendoza at any point this season ?

As a group you can't have all of them slumping at once.
If Dalbec can just just come out of the slump, that with some good pitching like last night and they will win plenty of series. JDM,X,Devers --can't do it alone--can be pitched around.
A three g series win would be nice in Baltimore.

Well, I tell ya, gardening certainly helped get me through COVID in that we moved into this new area - but when COVID shut everything down, it meant a LOT of time here at home. Big back yard, fenced (makes our three dogs happy), on a dead end quiet road. Downsizing - (and retiring) - I highly recommend both! I am actually working on book 3 - but not yet (this fall? not feeling all that motivated at the moment - too many hikes to take around here!) We are in Hendersonville - about 20 miles south of Asheville - surrounded by microbreweries!!! Nice! I'm right outside Asheville myself in Candler.

Dalbec is just shy of qualifying but would be 26th in Barrell% in baseball

The season is 20 percent over already, and the Red Sox are 1st to 20 wins and have the mlb best record! The RS will soon start on a harder schedule, but have the confidence and have figured out what their lineup is capable of as well as their rotation. IMO more good things coming.

They aren't doing it alone. Verdugo is a big part of it, Vazquez comes up with a lot of crucial hits, and even the "stiffs" have won games. I'd like to see that group pick it up but I don't believe any team is going to pitch around the core. That would be very costly.

Sox offense has been leading MLB in wRC+ for a while, but the previous time I looked, maybe a week ago, they were either 9th or 11th in Win Probability Added. They're now 3rd.
FanGrpahs does not normalize either offensive RAA or WPA to league offense ... doing that ...
They're +24.4 runs offensively based on the hitting line, but -1.4 baserunning; the total seems to correspond to 2.50 wins. They're actually +2.32 WPA, so that's -0.18. wins, ranking 17th in MLB. Essentially neutral so far ... it's -0.8 wins on the season, but one game can change that projection completely.
The reason they rank 3rd in WPA is that the A's (+1.2 W, ranking 6th) and especially the Giants (+3.2, best in MLB) have been crazy clutch, which isn't sustainable. Yankees rank 27th with -1.70, which we hope is.

Top 5 guys in WPA are the big four plus CV, and he's actually ahead of Xander (0.43 to 0.23, unadjusted).
The other guy who has a positive WPA is Franchy, but that's thanks to the ball Soto and Candeleria messed up in the 8th two games ago.

Odds that Gonzalez, Cordero, Renfroe and Dalbec are all above Mendoza at any point this season ? If you say “at any point” then it has already happened for all but Cordero. As of right now Renfroe and Gonzalez are at .209, and Dalbec was at one point intern-game at .280.

Verdugo - L 3. JD - R 4. Bogaerts - R 5. Devers - L 6. Vazquez - R This has been pretty standard, so the lead off choices are Gonzalez, Renfroe, Dalbec, or Chavis.....

If you garden, I have a few thousand tomato seedlings in my yard at the moment - selling from my driveway! My wife went to a quilt shop in Candler last year. We are at trader joe in Asheville every few weeks. Love living here!

We all know that Casas is a ways away, but just to show how rusty many players are....Casas 3/15 which is BA .200, and 0 BB to go along with 8 strikeouts. Some of the biggest named prospects have had the roughest start to their season (sss noted......yes it is early.....noted). I do not see any of the young prospects (Duran, Downs, Wilson, Wong at AAA) coming up to Boston any time soon. If anyone other than Chavis comes up it will be players who already have MLB experience like Munoz, Getty’s, Arauz IMO. Note: I hate spell correct! It changes my words constantly!

Chavis with a strikeout and misplay in the field to start his day.

I'm not sure how many of you knew this already, but Christian Vazquez is the third greatest catcher in Red Sox history.

If the Red Sox can keep playing against pitchers who throw 89-90 mph with marginal other pitches... gunna be a magic season.

It kind of blows my mind that in 2021, Hunter Renfroe can be a corner outfielder hitting .218/.263/.356 and that's good enough to be above replacement level.
In 1999 Dante Bichette hit .298/.354/.541 and put up negative 2 WAR.
