Matt Barnes, Eduardo Rodriguez & Adam Ottavino to SF Giants for Seth Corry, Kyle Harrison & Matt Wisler Great trade if you want to destroy the Sox' chances for 2021 and you seem to like guys with awful control as the return, so no, no, and no. You don't trade away key guys during a year that you're heavily competing, especially for the return you have listed here. Corry and Harrison can't throw strikes in the low minors and Wisler was DFA. That's a horrendous trade proposal for the Red Sox.

Rodriguez, Barnes & $1m to SF for Ramos & Wisler. I know he was just dfa’d, that’s why he is included

I know he was just dfa’d, that’s why he is included So my choice is: A)possibly/probably making the playoffs with Barnes, Ottavino, and E-Rod with a chance of making some noise in the playoffs if they can improve 1b and get Chris Sale back healthy OR B) trade away our reliable closer, the guy who right now is our best middle relief option, and a starter who will pitch better as the season goes along (his FIP is way lower than his ERA) for two guys who are walking more guys than innings pitched in the lower minors and a guy who was bad enough to get DFA. Geez, I'll have to think that one over....how about A! Unless you're trying to destroy this year's team while getting guys with serious control issues who might never make the majors and a guy who like I said, was bad enough this season to be DFA.

You act like the 2021 season has absolutely no value, which is ridiculous. And you're proposing a trade in which you're not even getting guys who are likely to impact your team in the future. I mean, did you see their BB/9? If the Sox stunk this year or were mediocre, of course you'd entertain trading them, but in case you haven't noticed, the Sox aren't too bad this year. They actually have a chance and one where they don't have to make some damaging long-term deal to improve themselves.

I get the concept of trading Barnes if you don't think you really have a chance in October. I don't understand taking such a light package. If there is one trade that renders a very lopsided return for present value vs. potential future value it's an elite reliever at the trade deadline. I'd be asking for top 100 prospects + for Barnes.

Barnes is set up for a really nice pay day. Would the Sox pay that price?
The reds are about 4 games out and relievers.
Barnes, Valdez and ort for Bryce Bonin!
