Does this streak imply that the Sox system is strong? Or does it not really matter in that context?

Does this streak imply that the Sox system is strong? Or does it not really matter in that context? It's certainly better than if they were getting killed every game of course, but not necessarily, no. In this case, I think it's in large part that the rest of their division, outside of Somerset, is kind of terrible. And keep in mind that given the way the schedule works this year, a 14-game win streak is basically one win on either side of a pair of series sweeps, in this case against very bad Reading (27-40) and Hartford (21-45). A team might be winning a lot of games because it has a lot of older players who are beating up on younger prospects on other teams. Conversely a team might be losing a lot because it has a lot of younger players who are being challenged with an aggressive assignment. But neither is universal either. So win-loss results aren't necessarily great indicators of system health prospect-wise. It's a nice-to-have rather than a good barometer, perhaps?

Aaron Perry went to the IL a couple days ago. Missed that. Hopefully it’s not a long term thing.

Indeed an opener then Gonsalves tonight in Worcester. Matt Kent tomorrow, TBA's after. Seems like something must be up with Gossett, who hasn't pitched since 7/9 (I think - tough to tell with all the rain last week and suspended games and whatnot).

Sea Dogs lead 7-1 after 3 in quest for 15th straight. 26 year old Granberg at .360...

Several years ago the Sox farm collectively had a substantially less than .500 record. I made the 'mistake' of implying that that could be an indication of our relative talent. I experienced some excoriation on the board which underlined that the minors were a breeding ground to foster a few good prospects and that team records don't much count. I agree in part but as of today, our 4 team collective minor league records show 37 games above .500....Yes older players may account for some differential as Chris advises, but dang I am a lot more positive seeing this year's results. Go Sox!!

Pedro Castellanos got removed from the game in Portland. Singled and came around to score in the 4th or 5th. Stayed in defensively for the next inning but then got pulled after that.

So, who goes if Wilson comes up? Santana for me, but Chavis is a possibility. Dalbec is third choice, but I am guessing not him because he needs further chances to figure it out Oops, Santana may be gone again if he has a significant hammy issue.

Could also be Wilson is part of a trade rather than coming up to majors.

Cannon taken out now too. Seems way too coincidental given that Wilson/Castellanos are logical trade chips due to 40 man status, and Cannon due to his improved play

Make it 6 out of the last 8 starts where BVB has gone at least 5 with 1 ER or less. Went six shutout innings last night. In that stretch he’s dropped his ERA over three full runs from 7.08 to 4.01. He also hasn’t given up an earned run in his last three appearances over a span of 17 innings.

Kutter Crawford Walks per 9 innings is now UNDER 1. He sports a ridiculous 12.80 K/BB that leads the AA Northeast by a wide margin (the 2nd best K/BB ratio in the league is 8.29). There's no way this guy won't be protected in the Rule 5 draft. Dude's Koji'ng his league lmao.

I know he was advanced but it’s no easy feat beginning your career in A+ ball Seems like the kid knows how to adjust in the face of adversity
