Not sure where else to post this, but this is the most hilarious example of DSL baseball I've ever seen. 43 runs on 28 hits, 31 walks, 14 errors, 8 wild pitches, 6 HBP, 16 stolen bases and 2 balks. The two teams combined for 11 runs in the 10th inning.
I kind of want to go through the play by play for fun. Pretty sure I was never even in a little league game like that.
www.milb.com/gameday/dsl-mariners-vs-dsl-yankees2/2021/07/22/659268#game_state=final,game_tab=,game=659268 DSL Mariners score 6 in the top of the 10th to win on error-single-error-walk-fielder's choice (not recorded as an out, I guess an infield single)-walk-walk-hbp-pop out-double play. DSL Yankees score 5 in the bottom of the 10th to almost get all the way back on walk-walk-walk-grounder-line out-single-single-fielder's choice.

Bonaci with another two hits and a walk today. OPS up over .900 even after a very cold start. Even with Mayer, Downs, and Yorke ahead of him as middle-infield prospects, I really don’t want to trade Brainer. They’d have to get a really good player back to make it worth it in my eyes. I feel similarly, but also lets not get too attached to guys based on FCL lines, though great reports from instructs too.

If Kutter keeps the ball in the yard in AAA I will start officially getting hyped about him.

So overall:
Seabold activated from IL.
Worcester to Portland: Matthew Kent
Portland to Worcester: Kutter Crawford, Durbin Feltman, Grant Williams
Greenville to Portland: Nick Sogard
Salem to Greenville: Jake Mackenzie
Leaves Portland and Salem with short benches. Portland has had a 3 man bench for awhile and seems to be doing fine. Salem has a lot of positional versatility on their roster, so we’ll see if anyone comes up from Fort Myers to take Mackenzie’s place or not. Then again, with how banged up they’ve been, I’d want all the bodies I can get.
Also noticed Roniel Raudes was placed back on the restricted list. Don’t know what’s going on with him.

I need Brainer To me, out of that group I move Downs. Not a slam-dunk SS, which to me means trade him now while he's still a top 100 guy (he's fallen to 89 on FG). I'm not worried about his stats at Worcester (where he's 5 years younger than the average player) and I don't think other teams will be either.

The box score from yesterday’s Dominican Summer League Mariners vs. DSL Yankees2 game reads more like a survival test than a baseball game.
Runs: 43.
The final score was 22-21.
Tied at 16-16 after nine innings, the DSL Mariners scored six runs in the top of the 10th inning on only one hit (a single). The speed-up rules put a runner at second to start the inning. Two errors, three walks, a hit-by-pitch and a fielder’s choice did the rest.
But they only barely held on from there. In the bottom of the 10th, three walks, two singles and an error allowed the DSL Yankees2 to rally back, but with the tying run at second, a fielder’s choice finished one of the wildest games we will see in 2021.
Errors: 14.
Four different players had two errors.
Hits: 28.
Mariners catcher German Guilarte had four hits. He also walked three times and was hit by a pitch. He reached base eight times overall.
Walks: 31.
Three different DSL Yankees2 hitters had four walks in the game. Overall 15 of the 23 batters to come to the plate in this game drew at least one walk.
Wild Pitches: 8.
Six of the 13 pitchers allowed at least one wild pitch.
Passed Balls: 1.
Considering the wildness of the pitchers, Guilarte and Yankees catchers Jesus Rodriguez and Edinson Duran deserve plenty of credit.
Balks: 2.
Hit By Pitches: 6.
Stolen Bases: 15.
Innings: 10.

Maybe showcasing them as trade bait... Possible but I really doubt any team is going to change their opinion of either player based off of 10 days of AAA performance. Crawford will maybe make 2 starts and feltman maybe pitch 4 or 5 times. Doubt it moves the needle much either way. More likely they want to get a look at them in AAA for the rest of year to see if they are 40 man material or not. Crawford probably moreso than feltman.

Seabold looks rusty, not throwing very hard 89-90-91 vast majority (BUT: tv radar so who knows), not many whiffs. On the two run-scoring plays Matheny fell down and Munoz took a horrible rout on an easy fly ball that directly scored each of the 3 runs allowed.

Wonder where he fits going forward. Not to say its not workable, but Mayer is the same age and step in the development level. For this year, they can probably work Mayer in as DH with an occasional spot at SS ahead of Brainer, but next year in Greenville, where do they play? It doesn't force a trade for Brainer, but it does create a push.

Jeremy Wu-Yelland threw 4 perfect innings. 12 up, 12 down with 7 Ks. The potential is there if he can just control his pitches.

Sea Dogs have come back from a 5-1 deficit in the 9th. Reed with a game-tying 2-out 2-run single, and then Potts put up a 9-pitch battle but ultimately struck out. On to the 10th.

Nick Yorke's night: K, line drive triple to center, lineout to center, line drive single to right, Walk, line drive single to center. By the time Marcelo gets to Salem, he'll be in Greenville.

If they get shelled (like Feltman did tonight), maybe that takes them out of trade talks but also makes your 40-man decision easier. If they show well, those two things flip. Let's hope that Krawford does the latter and Feltman can turn it around.

I was at the IronPigs-Woosox tonight and it was rough. Seabold low 90’s getting hit hard, 4 errors on routine balls, and just sloppy play all around. Hope tomorrow goes better as I plan on going to double header too.

I was at the Portland game tonight. Bello had some hard contact against him in his one inning. Every fastball was 96 though. Was an season ending event for my kids allstar little league team so was hard to focus too much with all the distractions but Sogard made some loud contact in what I think was his Portland debut. Nishioka and Pareda also were lacing some balls…you know.. the names you want to hear.
