Cora punished for about the 47th time this year for leaving in his starter to face hitters for the third time.

Not really a terrible outing by Pivetta, some bad luck. All three hits int eh 3rd were on decent pitches. Even that HR wasn't a terrible one.
Not good enough, obviously. But if that's his "bad" outing, then I'll take it.

Tell them Valdez is coming...

Is Valdez about to become a core member of the pen?
Or did he already?

Cora punished for about the 47th time this year for leaving in his starter to face hitters for the third time. To try to split the difference between this comment and the "our starters never go more than 5 innings" complaints... I think the starters have to make it thrice through the order at least some of the time, so I don't think we can put it on Cora if that doesn't always work out.

Come on fans, you gotta take that away from him!

Pivetta on the mound, tying run on 2nd, murderer's row coming up is an easy pull.

Rios?

Feel like the O didn't fully take advantage of Hatch. Lineup suffers when 1 of the big 3 sits.

The worst relievers on major league rosters are much better bets to get outs than Pivetta the third time through the order.

Come on fans, you gotta take that away from him! Funny part about it was the lady (looked pretty hot) had the best chance but didn't try, and then was disappointed when the LF'er didn't give her the ball (she clearly asked to keep it)

This Valdez kid can really pitch (still has the magic). Three more chances to grab this game - hope the offense starts now!

My brain is never gonna adjust to balls hit over the second bag being automatic outs in 2021. I get surprised every time the fielder is right there.

Well we are not blessed by the BABIP or the fair/foul gods in this one.

Ottavino is not pitching particularly well recently - he must get out of this unscathed.
EDITED - phew, he did.

Well we are not blessed by the BABIP or the fair/foul gods in this one. Again, it felt like we were cursed by that all weekend, with triples turning into ground rule doubles, Kiké's "out of 29 ballparks but not Fenway" shot, all the friggin bloop hits by the MFYs... We outplayed them enough to overcome a lot of it, but it felt like the luck was completely against us. Maybe I'm forgetting stuff that went our way.

Ottavino threw about 15 pitches, I swear 10 of them were hanging sliders on the inside half and middle in to righties. That pitch often ends up hitching a ride on the Mass Pike on the way home. That was a mess of an inning. Getting out of that without a run was a blessing. He needs to reset his release point or he is going to get hammered.

You could tell Verdugo was getting on a bit of a roll.
The only bummer of that HR is he robbed Franchy of a chance to be the hero.
