No Yorke in the lineup for Salem. Probably just a day off because he played the first five days in the series, but if Cannon isn’t in the Greenville lineup then I’m putting my tinfoil hat on.
On a different note, Jonathan Diaz is making his Salem debut today.

Gilberto tossed for arguing about beating a ball out for a hit again.

Cannon is in the Greenville lineup so my tinfoil hat remains off. Again probably nothing, but Christian Koss was in the initial lineup for Greenville but he’s now been removed for some reason.

Solid outing from Drohan: 5IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 5K. He had a decent July after a really poor June - hopefully he can keep up the momentum in August.

On a different note, Jonathan Diaz is making his Salem debut today. He didn't play on both Sunday 25th and 18th. They're clearly managing his back soreness so he could get 2 days off each time. Kid is hottest hitter in Low-A East while not being a 100% healthy lol

Ronaldo Hernandez with a HR - his 11th of the year. Another guy who had a good July after a slow start.

Not sure that Paulino's .556 BABIP can hold up.

Another guy trending in the right direction is Zach Bryant, who went 11IP 2H 0ER 2BB 16K in July. His May was brutal, but had a solid June. Jacob Wallace, on the other hand, has been struggling all season.

Pour one out for Victor De Leon, the first member of the 2019-20 IFA class to be released.
In 3 games this year, he pitched 4 innings.
The good: Only gave up one hit, and somehow picked up 2 wins!!! The bad: 11 walks and 2 HBP in 4 IP!! Walked 46% of the batters he faced! The odd: With a 3.00 WHIP he somehow only gave up 3 runs? Must've gotten bailed out all 3 games or something. Like how do you put 14 runners on in 4 innings and only have 3 score? My guess is his catchers picked him up because he didn't induce any GIDPs but got 4 IP on 10 outs induced.
Even with the walk issues I'm going to guess there's something else there because they've kept guys with bad control issues for longer than that.

Chris, does his low signing bonus ($10,000) play into the quick release at all? Thanks

I watched Jose Adames pitch the 8th for Worcester on Sunday. It looks like a clean inning on the boxscore, but it was anything but. Firstly, his 4 seamer is legit. He sat 96-98 and touched 100. The crowd Oohed when the stadium scoreboard showed 100. But he had significant command issues yesterday with both the FB and the Slider. In fact at some point he just gave up on the slider and was just throwing heat. First guy goes down swinging, completely overmatched. No problem. The next guys walks on a 3-2 FB. The third guy takes a 98 mph heater and hits it to deep CF. Tate Matheny does his thing once again and robs the hitter of a HR. Very similar play to Saturday's catch. This brings a visit to the mound which didn't have the desired effect. He walked the fourth guy on 4 pitches all of them fastballs. The fifth batter takes another high 90s FB and lines it hard to CF for a single. At this point it's all fastballs. The hitters are just looking dead red all the time. Now the bases are loaded and everyone knows Adames is struggling with control. So what does the next batter do? He swings at a high fastball out of the zone and misses. Gift. The count goes to 3-2. A pitch gets fouled away and on the 8th pitch of the at bat Adames gets him swinging on another high FB just at the top of the zone. Adames pumps his fist in celebration, because he knows he just got out of a jam of his own making. Bottom line. It was his 8th straight appearance for Worcester without allowing a run. But it was anything but clean.
