Kind of hard to tell because they haven’t been assigned uniform numbers yet, but it doesn’t look like Blaze or McDonough are with the team in the dugout.
Good pitcher going against the Red Sox tonight. Nationals #4 prospect is on the mound.

Not a great start by Wu-Yelland. It is very, very humid here and he seemed to have a hard time gripping the ball. Kept going back to the rosin bag and his last pitch was completely air mailed to the backstop. Slider didn’t look very good so the opposing batters were hitting the fastball hard.

Casas activated in Portland. Curious what the moves will be to activate Baldwin and Reyes. Figuring it'd involve Rangel and maybe Cubillan?
Is there a limit on how many guys can be placed on the dev list for an affiliate?

Yorke extend his hitting streak with a groundball single up the middle. Has been hitting lots of grounders lately, they should keep him away from Jimenez' influence by promoting him IMHO.

Anyone have an idea of what’s going on with Blaze or McDonough. Covid issues, injuries, roster space, team mandated week off? Something different. Selfishly Blaze was in a nice rhythm, didn’t want to see him loose his groove.

Nick Yorke’s third hit of the night has put the go-ahead run in scoring position in the 9th inning.

Salem scored three in the ninth to tie the game. Gilberto just laid down a sac bunt that turned into a delayed squeeze to tie it.

Not a great game by Salem overall. They made a late comeback but ended up getting walked off in the bottom of the ninth. Rough pitching, hitting, and fielding.
Wu-Yelland didn’t make it out of the 1st inning. Not super high on him as a starter, but he could be a really good lefty out of the pen. His fastball was 97-99 in the first and more 94-96 in the second.
The rest of the pitching was really just meh. Lots of contact and lots of walks. Tellier was 90-91, T 93 with a high 70s breaking ball. Santana was ok but also threw a lot of pitches that were just uncompetitive. Fernandez is probably too good for this level. Got a lot of weak contact and broke a few bats. Opposing batters couldn’t do anything against him. Suero was really the definition of eh. Batters were putting good wood on him consistently. Let up too many solidly hit balls.
Other than Yorke, no one really made any solid contact all game long. First 5 innings they were facing 95+ fastballs and couldn’t do anything with it. Yorke was the exception: three hits and a deep fly out to the opposite field warning track. Lugo had a double but it was a ground ball over the third base bag. Not hit super hard. Just not a good night at the plate.
Poorly fielded game by multiple guys. Another error by Lugo, poor route by Rafaela led to an RBI triple, Yorke pulled Northcut off first on a possible double play. Best hands on the field easily go to Luke Montz.
Flores got hit in his first two ABs and was not happy about it. First pitch of his third at bat had him jumping out of the way to avoid it and he was just done with it all.
Angel Maita is very fast, but didn’t put any solid contact on the ball. Did beat out a swinging bunt.
