Simas with an inside-the-park HR (replaced Bonaci in the 2nd inning). Ugueto with a HR as well.

Mayer gets in on the fun - third HR of the year for him.
Ugueto is a single short of the cycle as of the 5th inning...

Pretty sure Ugueto must be pissed, hitting .350 BA and .900 OPS as an 18 year old (19 tomorrow) in the FCL, and unranked.

Angel Bastardo is about a 60 name on the 20-80 scale. It's a real strength of this organization in general.

Looks like they finished the FCL game early, so no chance at the cycle for Ugueto.

Bonaci pulled early? Could be Covid/exposure etc obviously, but it did make me wonder: how good a prospect has been traded after the July 31 trade deadline (essentially traded for someone who cleared waivers, if I understand the rule correctly) - asked specifically because if there was ever a team desperate to add mediocre MLB depth it would be Boston right now.

Jeff Bagwell and John Smoltz, to name a couple. But now that they can no longer trade anyone on the 40-man roster, I doubt you’ll ever* see prospects like that traded after the true July 31st deadline. * unless they change the rules in the future

There are no more trade waivers. The trade deadline is the trade deadline. In theory you can trade players not on the 40-man but at this time of year those are going to be the sort of depth guy for cash deals we've seen in the past week or so.

Per Team Twitter Kutter will not be the starter for the Woo: I wouldn’t mind seeing him in Fenway this weekend, if that’s why they’re holding him out, but I would have thought Seabold was next man up, especially since he’s already on the 40-man. Unless both of them will be in Boston?

A very Wu start in Wu-Yelland’s Greenville debut. He went 5 hitless innings and struck out 9 batters…but also walked 4 batters and hit a guy.

Tyler McDonough started cold in Salem after his extended time off with a 2-17 start with 8 Ks and no XBH. Since then he’s gone 8-24 (.333), 2 2B and 1 3B, with only 4 Ks. He’s also bringing a 6 game hitting streak into the second game of tonight’s double header.

Shane Drohan is having a low-key great season: 9 K's, 0 BB Bloom's 2020 draft is truly impressive especially when you consider the circumstances.
