When did sale become a nibbler?

Very cliche to say, but it feels like the problem right now is not getting strike 1.

The Astros sure are able to perfectly tell apart the fastball and slider.

Man he looks good to me, I don't know how they're laying off some really tough pitches (no implications, these are great hitters), if anything I'd just want him to attack the zone more.

When did sale become a nibbler? He always has been. He usually gets batters chasing.

Can always count on an unclutch passed ball by Vaz

So he’s not sharp, but maybe he limits the damage to the one run.

Unfortunate, but not the end of the world. I think he'll get stronger the next couple of innings if he can just get the 3rd out here.

Can always count on an unclutch passed ball by Vaz I'm not sure what people are watching, but that's a wild pitch all day every day and not even close. It was a fastball 2 feet away from the glove. And it was called one.

98. Wow. Fixed the velocity but control is erratic There was nothing wrong with the velocity. You were presented with the data and chose to ignore it.

That sac fly was 273 feet and almost to the warning track.

Sale got squeezed and his defense didn’t help him at all

His stuff looks fine and the velocity good but command not there this first inning. Typically that is the hardest thing for guys coming back from Tommy John. Does the sox no good this year but I think he comes back as vintage ace sale next year with a regular offseason.

On the pessimistic side, two swinging strikes in 29 pitches is not a strong start.
