Well looking like my ref theory was wrong and man
You really can't be softer than Jayson Tatum in this game. Just a sad way to go out flailing looking for calls that obviously are not going to be there. I miss the rookie Tatum that went for dunks and strong finishes. If he really goes out like this in an elimination game at home, he's going to have to do some serious soul searching this summer.
Sad that Pritchard, White, and Grant were all absolute zeroes today. -20 for Pritchard, lol.

Holy crap the bench is over minus 60 in the first half, the starts have actually been only a minus 8 among all five with some in the positive, Smart and R. Williams.

Ians what have you said about calls in the first half offsetting ones in the second to make it look good in the end. Call here is the lead and calls will continue for the first few minutes of the second half the lead will grow to 20 then, then the flood gates open and the Celts chip chip chip away. |

Its over, lol.
Just about as pathetic a performance as you can have in an elimination game. Tatum in particular needs to do some soul searching, but really, the role players gave them NOTHING - White, Pritchard, and Grant Williams were worse than nobodies.
Still very proud of this team and hopefully this loss encourages some soul searching and motivation in the offseason.

This was the Celtics best chance to steal a title, not sure when they'll be back. They need another allstar type player.
They were very fortunate to make it past the Bucks with no Middleton. Stevens has a lot of work to do.
Golden State is just flat out better.

You only get so many bites at the apple. This might be the best one that this core gets. From that perspective, even if they came farther than most expected, it remains deeply disappointing.

What will it take for Tatum to get calls like he should? It's not Theis level but come on. That one factor would change ALOT of narratives and perspectives.

Ball security. Dude needs to stop the weak flail gather steps with arms out and somebody needs to work with him on protecting the ball like a running back when he gathers. |

Game 4 really was the killer loss. Now had they played game 5 and game 6 the same they could be on the verge of blowing a 3-1 lead, but it really was too much to overcome not winning when up 94-90 with 5 minutes to go.

I think possibly yes, but it really depends on what we do with the current core - we still have pretty much all our picks moving forward. That said, Horford was such an important part of this run and not sure how you replace that stretch big - connector type of player as he ages. Still, I expect Brown and Tatum to continue to improve and maybe that's enough. |

These announcers are horrible. When GS flops their lips are sealed but when Boston does they let everyone know. That says alot more than many know. It's controlling a narrative at it's finest.
