Fraley - 4th OF with 1 year service time Williamson - Top 100 pitching prospect Dunn - #6 starter with 2 years service time
Suarez is mildly overpaid, probably had negative trade value. Winker's got two arb years left that will pay him like $18 million, with 6 WAR projected, so like 30-35 million in surplus value
Looks like Reds got decent value, but I would be looking for a new team if I were a Reds fan

Hopefully this makes a trade for Sean Murphy possible for the Sox. What’s all the love for Murphy about? Good glove, subpar bat. Meh. Because it's better described as good glove, average bat for a catcher (.216/.306/.405 was a 99 wRC+ for him last year) and much better bat than Vazquez's who won't be a free agent until 2026. Ian was all over him as a target on the latest podcast. Trade for Murphy, hope Wong or Hernandez can be your backup starting next year, see what you've got in Lira in the meantime.

Blue Jays making a push for Freeman. I know they say the playoffs aren't won in the off-season, but this division sure seems like it's over if THAT lineup gets Freeman. The Jay's made a huge push for Seager who's a LHB. I think the Dodgers pivot and go get Matt Chapman of the A's if Freeman picks the Jay's. Makes a lot of sense with Turner aging. He needs to play way more DH now.

I think folks might be underestimating how bad Donaldson's injury issues have been. Missed more than half of the short season in 2020, and last year played just 56% of the team's games at 3B because of games missed and that he had to DH. He's a big question mark and getting his full contract off the books was a pretty good move by the Twins. Also, these aren't the "they don't care about the CBT" Yankees any more. They have gone over just once since 2017. And there is a very real question of how that lineup works when Donaldson inevitably needs to DH. They're also apparently looking to add a 1B still. Perhaps they think LeMahieu is toast? And most of the team should be playing DH.

I don’t mind trading for a catcher. I just don’t see why you dangle premier prospects for this particular catcher. Maybe I am missing something here.

Don’t see terms here, but this looks like a safe bet on a 1 year deal. 27HR’s last year. Still walks a lot. Really good player.

He's now what the last 5 years of Mookie's contract will look like, right? 1 MVP and three more top 5 finishes ages 25-28, then never an all-star again.

Before JBJ came back, thus taking up a reserve OF spot, I was hoping to get Cutch to platoon with Verdugo. Cutch is old and not great defensively (and indeed, the ghost of Mookie future) but he still kills LHP. Turns out the Brewers filled their JBJ-sized hole with Cutch...

Saving money for Druw Jones. Druw Jones looks like the #1 pick in the 2022 draft which belongs to the O’s.

How much of a “hole” does losing a -0.7 WAR player leave, anyway? Lol. By my math, they could have signed Robin Yount and been just as well off for 2022.

I don't see why the Red Sox would trade for Myers and a couple of middling prospects. They already did that with Bradley whose bad contract and limited production is going to hamstring the Red Sox for the next two years. The prospects they received are not worth the payroll drain. I would rather they use the money to sign Devers to a long term contract than trade for another bad contract.

I would rather they use the money to sign Devers to a long term contract than trade for another bad contract. He has 1 yr left on his deal. Not really hamstringing them in any way whatsoever. If he plays well enough to have his mutual option picked up then he’s not really playing poorly and is deemed worthy of that deal.

Olson deal is about 6/138 if you subtract the two arb years they already had him for. Olson's first would-befree agent season will be his age 30 season with about a 4-4.5 WAR projection - pretty much the same as Bogaerts. Nice deal for Atlanta.
