He’s a double away now from the cycle and we’re in the bottom of the 3rd inning 😂 I thought Binelas was the prize in the deal but maybe it’s Hamilton. Brilliant move by Chaim Can he play right field?

I hope Franchy is our new Rusney. Have fun in AAA, entertain the fans. But, er, don’t hurry back. I don't understand. If Franchy is playing well, why wouldn't the Red Sox want to see if he could help the big club? Because he is a AAA star. He can’t hang with the big boys, though. Fool you once, shame on Franchy. Fool you 5 years running….

Shugart in now for Portland. The Sea Dogs are trying hard to use everyone I need to shoot tonight while I'm not there. Tomorrow I bet you can count on German, Martinez and Politi out of the pen.

Downs went yard. The left fielder had a bit of a Torii Hunter tumble trying to catch it

EDIT: Love Hamilton though, since the day of the trade. You can't coach speed. Would be great to have a UT in Boston who's a legit base stealer.

Jorge Posada was an above average catcher at age 27. He’d had a decent season at age 26. And he was a catcher, a position that often blooms later. Posada had also never flopped at the big-league level. Franchy is… not that. But sure, maybe he will finally fixxthe holes in his swing. Crazier things have happened, I guess. I just hope he is not included in “outfield depth” at the moment.

His previous stints were promising enough. The issues then were just injuries.

David Hamilton: 12 total bases, seven RBI, stole a base just as a cherry on top. Welcome to the organization, kid.

Now now just because you didn’t like the benetendi trade doesn’t mean a $1 million player can’t be called up and help the Red Sox or put all his tools together and become David Ortiz. Franchy is WAY different than Rusney who only was “stashed” because his salary didn’t count against the tax rate. Franchy in no way shape or form has a salary that hurts the Red Sox. Why wouldn’t you hope he succeeds and blows up giving us a quality outfielder? I get it- dombrowski didn’t trade for him but that doesn’t make his potential less intriguing

Regardless of how he performs from now on, David Hamilton will remain linked in my mind with Daniel Nava, what a first impression. Last night Hamilton produced the way I’d hoped Jeter Downs would have in last year in the Sea Dogs home opener.

Might be useful to remember that Cordero was on the COVID list till March 30th last year, so he missed almost all of spring training. That could have something to do with how long it took him to get it into gear.

I miss when the minor league thread was pinned to the top. It was pinned. We just also have all the polls for the preseason all-stars pinned at the moment. It's OK. You can scroll a little for a couple more days
