I presume Wilkelman on regular rest tonight in Salem.
Keep an eye on their lineup. Bonaci and Ugueto haven't played either of the last two games, which is a little weird.

Sogard and Gillies up to Worcester for some reinforcements. Reed and Rangel activated from the IL and DEV List respectively.

Still no Bonaci or Ugueto in the lineup. Blaze slides down to 5th in the lineup with Hickey and Kavadas bumping up to 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Hope the radio works for the Sea Dogs game. Both MLB and MiLB radio have been sketchy lately.

Downs was furious he lost a double after the ump questionably ruled it a foul ball. He then ripped a two strike single on the next hittable pitch he saw and immediately stole second.

Things just got really, really ugly in Portland with an all-out brawl. I'd only started watching at the half inning but the apparent final straw was Tyreque Reed taking a pitch off the hand. Opposing pitcher is definitely now hurt, walking off with assistance.

Brawl in Portland
Reed hit on the hand with the bases loaded. Halfway down the line he went to the pitcher and landed a pretty good punch. One of the Binghamtom players suffered a serious leg injury it looks like

Will Darwinzon ever consistently throw strikes? Another weird early line by him.

So after the HBP, the pitcher started walking towards home plate yelling with his arms in the air, then stopped to turn to Reed and Reed wasn't messing around and came and decked him.
Hamilton was on third and coming to home plate to score, he went to Reed/pitcher and tried to keep guys off the brawl. He gives up and takes a few steps away from the scrum and is just standing around, and the pitcher comes sprinting towards Hamilton and gives him a double leg take down. This ends with the pitcher screaming and crying and unable to walk off on his own.
Reed will get in trouble but mostly this just looks like the pitcher completely lost his mind.

Damn tyreque
He was a WRECKING BALL in that. I think he took out like 3 separate guys. Intangibles
The pitchers knee looked like it buckled when he got taken down after running like a mad man and attempting a double leg
Very rare you see an *actual* fight

I wonder what the pitcher said that got Tyreke that mad that quickly.

Love the coach (?) in the red coat who comes in to save Hamilton on double leg and ends up crunching the pitcher. Then there's this guy literally kicking the coach in the butt lmao

Hamilton out of the game, FWIW.

Hamilton wasn't ejected. He seemed extremely mad but not obviously hurt with two people dragging him away at the end.
edit: It doesn't show up in the box score, but Alex Speier says he was ejected

They don't call 'em the Rumble Ponies for nothing, eh?
Binghamton really could have used Tim Tebow tonight.

Fitzy home run #5. Who would have had Rafaela and Fitzgerald as the home run leaders of the system at any point in the year.

Joe Davis left the game after getting hit by a pitch in the first, maybe on the wrist

That was a very solid punch. Dude is huge.
Did the pitcher think he swung or moved into it? Weird.

Mayer has maybe his most impressive at bat of the season: Opposed to a tough lefty (22 YO with 17 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA in 7 IP) works the count to 2-2 and rifle an outside pitch to LF for a double.

Yes his use of the opposite field in his hitting approach is a beautiful thing, it’s the hard stuff on the hands that has been giving him trouble so far. IIRC he went to same HS as Adrian Gonzalez, so that must explain the oppo pop lol
