They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Zimmerman is the only lefty SP for O's. And he pitched yesterday, Thurs.
So I hope we see Franchy all 3 games.

Wait, why isn't Houck starting game 1? This isn't Toronto.

Sounds like Franchy, Davis, Houck, Crawford on, Shaw DFA, Refsnyder, Schreiber, Danish down.

I guess Jaylin Davis is sticking past cut down day and Arauz is going to be in Worcester. Don't think you'd bother to call up Davis for three days with Refsnyder already on the roster.

I bet there's a lot of bad feelings with Houck. He probably feels like he got screwed pretty bad out of service time in 2021, now there's the vaccine issue and he gets demoted to the pen after. Maybe we see a shocker trade with him.

I kinda like Danish. He reminds me of Bob Stanley.

Maybe we see a shocker trade with him. He can't be too upset about the service time stuff last year, seeing as he's doing the same thing to himself this year.

Maybe we see a shocker trade with him. Just to be clear, you mean bad feelings on the part of Houck or bad feelings toward him? I can understand bad feelings toward him from the org and his teammates, given how things broke in Toronto, but I can't imagine they'll trade him. I expect him to be part of the Next Great Red Sox Team. Talent gets a guy a lot of coddling and run room. If he has bad feelings toward anyone, he has absolutely no self-awareness. Reminds me of a corny comedy I saw years ago in which Owen Wilson played a broke wanderer who moves in with a friend and causes the house to catch on fire and burn to the ground. He tells the friend, "No hard feelings on my part."

The second era of Franchy begins. I think he’s starting tonight.

Araúz is in Worcester but isn't in the lineup. My guess is he gets the full 20-day rehab assignment to push off the decision on what to do with him. They're going to need to make a 40-man roster move when he's activated now, so it's vastly more complicated than previous. EDIT: Although, looking at it now, the move is probably either DFA'ing Araúz or Davis, unless someone new winds up on the COVID list.

I guess Jaylin Davis is sticking past cut down day and Arauz is going to be in Worcester. Don't think you'd bother to call up Davis for three days with Refsnyder already on the roster. According to the site, J. Davis still has an option, so they can send him back to Worcester any time they want. Appears to be the new platoon tryout for JBJ. I don't think Refsnyder was ever on the 40-man, as he came up to replace a covid case (Arauz?). His brief tryout went okay but if he were to stay with BOS, they'd have to make room for him on the 40-man, which I doubt they're ready to do just yet. Whenever Arauz comes back, they'll need to make room for him on the 40 or they'll just waive him and see if he clears.
Speaking of UT guys, it's only 20 games so far but you have to wonder how long a leash Arroyo is going to get. I don't think they'd DFA him to keep Arauz but I do think there's going to be a fair amount of roster churn in the near future (not least with the returns of Sale and Paxton). Arroyo's seat figures to only get hotter if he doesn't start to hit.

The Free Franchy Tour begins. If they go on a streak with his on the team all the unimaginative sportswriters will begin posting their "Legend of Franchy Cordero" and "Bloom is a Genius One Year Removed."

Well, they need either Arroyo of Arauz - otherwise there apparently won't be any other SS on the major league roster on Xander's days off (eye-roll).

This Orioles lineup…jeez aren’t you glad you aren’t a fan of this team that doesn’t even try to field a competitive team?
Not saying it as a commentary on the odds of a Sox win this series or the game tonight.
