“Bobby’s due to hit one about 450”
STFU.

The Red Sox are starting 5 guys that are batting below .200 today. Tomorrow is May 1st, btw. No more using “it’s early” as an excise anymore. Wonder if that is why two games into a series this thread has only 4 pages. I had to look twice to make sure I was in the right place. I can’t remember the Red Sox hitting this badly in April. Ever. They have been basically unwatchable, so far.

You beat me to it!
Sox are hitting .228 and with no power (25th)!! As incredibly bad as we have been offensively, we are only 19th in team batting average...so amazingly 11 teams are hitting worse!!...with Arizona at .181. Seriously??
Move the mound back, please... 60'6" is not sacred.

You beat me to it! Sox are hitting .226 and with no power!!! But poor hitting is endemic in baseball at this point. As incredibly bad as we have been offensively, we are only 20th in team batting average...so 10 teams are hitting worse!!...with Arizona at .181. Move the mound back, please. 60'6" is not sacred. Fix the ball first. Maybe ban the shift, though that should be catnip to hitters who can go oppo.

This ump's "he went around" gesture is so cool. Same with his strike three call - like he's bringing down a hammer.

When Mountcastle and Hays singled, I thought: the Sox have ‘em where they want ‘em. Last two major leaguers in the lineup.

That guy is absolutely not a better hitter than Trevor Story, I canât believe I wasted time even entertaining that Incapable of hitting righties. Hasnât even looked good against lefties. Bob just kinda sucks. Platoon him, for the love of god Bobby Story Kiké Vazquez JBJ All black holes Story is starting to hit lately, the storm is coming

That route from Verdugo was absolutely terrible and he was like a foot short on the dive. It'd really hurt if this run comes in. Also, common mistake, but Mazz saying "Kiki" Hernandez is just painful. It's not hard to say Kiké.
Edit: I would have caught that Verdugo. Wake tf up.
Edit 2: .190 xBA on the Mullins double. Sounds about right.

What to do with Matt Barnes? He remains utterly broken.

Is it physical? Or is it in his head? Total failure since last year's All Star break

Are we still on the Bobby thing? He’ll come around? Cause… that position becomes more courageous every game.

Depending upon Barnes (which failed) and Brasier in a tie game to a last place team after an Eovaldi gem is not a sign of a team in good shape.
Bullpen issues. Huge offense issues.

So many questions with this team.... Barnes, Bobby, and bats in general to start. This game is a loss even if we win at this point. Morale in that clubhouse has to be bad. So many non competitive at-bats. Wow

Are we still on the Bobby thing? He’ll come around? Cause… that position becomes more courageous every game. It was so refreshing seeing Franchy in there last night, even though he went 0-4, because he did not strike out once and is not named Bobby Dalbec.
I'm not ready to give up on Bobby, but I am ready to give up on Bobby starting. I want him starting against lefties and other than that backing up corner IF and sprinking in some DH time.

Brasier leads RS into the 10th...heart of order up. Nice inning by Brasier. But - if this is the heart of the order, it isn't beating very strongly. All up to Xander. Correction - we have congestive heart failure

I didn’t see the game yesterday, but was amused that Franchy’s 0-4 was one of his best games as a Sox player. Talk about grading on a curve.

Welp, I'm in favor of selling as soon as we're down to 33% odds to make the playoffs.
