They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

So we resume...with Detroit and Cincy and Washington breathing down our necks in the race to the bottom.
Thank goodness for the Celts and Bruins right now.
Feeling pretty cynical about this team - hoping they prove me wrong.

So we resume... to the bottom. Feeling pretty cynical about this team - hoping they prove me wrong. We've long ago grown weary of Dalbec ... & Kiké is a bench player ... the search for a defensive-replacement first baseman continues. I'm Johnny One-Note.

+3.5 on Cincinnati +2.5 on Detroit
Who says the Sox aren’t in a thrilling race?
I say Detroit is the real threat. They are not as terrible as they appear and could put some wins together. I still give the Sox the edge over the Reds. But it could be a dogfight to the end!

I just took a look at the rangers stats. Not that I'm keeping receipts but I remember some on here saying the sox should go out and get semien. It's obviously early yet but woof he's off to a horrid start. The Sox dodged a bullet there, I guess only to step into Story time. Still ill take the story contract over semien as it stands.

Semien has had two seasons in his career where he was better than a league average hitter, by OAA he's had one above-average season on defense, and he's 31. How he parlayed that profile into a $175 million contract I will never understand.

He just so happened to have his best year when he was going into free agency. That's all it takes sometimes for some teams.

Says a lot about the state of the current team that they are playing three hours away from my new home, in a ballpark I've never been to before, and on a weekend, yet I really didn't consider going to see them all that hard.
(also just easier and more exciting to catch them when they're in Houston, but details aren't relevant on the internet)

I wonder if the Sox will win one game this series. That .355 winning percentage looks great. Keep going. Tank City!!!

Thoughts on Pivetta to the pen if he still is "off" tonight? He had great success in the pen last year and we need someone

Another lovely game where the teams are 3-27 with no extra base hits and two walks.
