Welp, Brasier gave us some good innings, was a big contributor to the 2018 team and hung around long enough to make some decent money. I think we can all walk away from this relationship satisfied. Unfortunately for Brasier, his career earnings ($3.7m) are less than the single-season MLB average salary, or about 1/3 of what Joe Kelly will bank this season.
Entering today's game Brasier had thrown 146.1 IP of 3.44 ERA ball across parts of 6 seasons with a career 1.19 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9. I'd say overall he falls in the underpaid category.

I would call that an interesting turn of events. If everybody stays realistic maybe he could hang around. This sounds like a slightly different answer to the same old “will you stay, Xander?” question. But Boras is still the agent here. The Sox would have to blow Boras/Xander away at this point to keep him from being a FA in a few months. Sounds like a real long-shot.
