Updated the A-ball probables to reflect (a) Liu had his last start pushed back a day and they've got him on a tight pitch count, so wouldn't be crazy for them to push him back a day again and throw Drohan on regular rest, and (b) those were the two Salem starters for the doubleheader last week so it could be either.

Seems like Mayer reaggravated his wrist injury or something. He’s out for the third straight game tonight after a one game return on Tuesday.

So I’m sure that this is an error with the MiLB app, but evidently Gilberto Jimenez is playing 3B tonight, Joe Davis is in right field, and Ricardo Cubillan is catching.
Edit: It got fixed once they got started but that would have been really funny. I’d love to see Big Joe play the outfield.

Darwinzon threw 28 pitches - 20 for strikes. What a nice change of pace.

For what it’s worth our lightning Rod evaluator Keith Law was in person for Mayer’s first game back. Said Mayer had a slow bat, as did Blaze, and Wilkeman had no control.

Chris Murphy is pitching in relief? What am I missing here?

Nick Yorke has a pair of singles and a pair of walks in four plate appearances tonight.

Thread headliner Blaze Jordan with another two-hit night. 11-game hitting streak, multi-hit in four straight.

Paulino is now 4th in the Carolina league in OPS among teenagers. Brady House and another first round pick from last year are ahead of him.

Forgotten man Gilberto Jimenez is at .276/.400/.414 in May, and is 5/5 in steals. Most impressive is that after that awful 21:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in April it's 7:6 so far.
Pretty great how so many of the top-25 guys who didn't play great to start off the year are really going well now. Yorke, Downs, Jordan, Jimenez, Paulino all seem to be rolling.

He gathers information from scouts. If he was basing the slow bat comment in regards to Mayer off that one game he saw I put 0 stock in it. Mayer had missed time due to a wrist issue and has since that game missed more time for that. Would explain why is bat speed may have looked slow.

If you read the article, that's exactly what he pointed out. Also, it wouldn't have taken a scout to comment on Wikelman's control that day. Anyone could have done that from the box score.
