Matt Barnes first chance to prove himself at the upper levels. Big day for him and the entire organization and its followers. In the grand scheme of things one start doesn't matter, but its hard to put much stock into performance prior to AA. Lets go Matt.

Ryan Dent is making the start in LF. Per Mike Antonellis, this is Dent's 3rd pro start in LF.

Almanzar just missed his 3rd home run. Wall double to deep left-center.

Brentz and Hazelbaker go yard in the 1st
RDLR now on the mound. Hoping he pitches well in his short stint to take the bite away from Barnes struggling

Brentz and Hazelbaker go yard in the 1st RDLR now on the mound. Hoping he pitches well in his short stint to take the bite away from Barnes struggling I wouldn't say he "struggled." K-BB-K-1B-3B-K. He settles down after that and it's a nice little day for him. We'll have to wait and see what the deal is. He threw first-pitch strikes to 5 of the 6 batters.

5.2 IP, 6H, 2 ER(Both HR), 0 BB, 7 SO, 6-1 GO-FO

Yea, struggled is to harsh. Just would have liked to see a cleaner first outing of the season. Though it's all dependent on why he was actually pulled

Wow - between the velo readings and the news about stirking someone out with three change ups, Frank Montas is starting to excite me in the pants.

Xander WALKS!!!!!!!! The national nightmare is over!! Well, Will Middlebrooks did hit three home runs the other day, so we can safely assume that K/BB numbers have no meaning or significance for any player at any point in their career for any reason.

This is the Jeremy Hazelbaker bandwagon. I'm driving. All are welcome here as we travel down the small sample highway toward midseason call-up land.
