Two home run game for Kelvin Diaz down in the DSL. And a triple for good measure. Added a double to go 4-6, with 2 HR, 3B, 2B. A single short of the cycle.

Not to be a Debbie Downer but Armando Sierra doesn't have a hit in his last 13 PAs and his batting average has plummeted to......405.

Worcester should probably be Crawford on regular rest. Bullpen day tomorrow, Murphy Thursday, Bello Friday, Seabold Saturday, Keller Sunday.
Portland will be Taylor then Mata. BVB probably tomorrow, Sale Thursday. Unclear if they'll piggyback Mata or Sale but without Murphy they may not.

Sounds like Seabold might be back in majors for Sunday to give Wacha an extra day, per Speier.

I'd love to know the last time a Red Sox mionr leaguer beat Niko's 1475 OPS over a month.

I'd love to know the last time a Red Sox mionr leaguer beat Niko's 1475 OPS over a month. Another sign of how good he's been is that his June OBP and SLG both dropped tonight even with the HR.

I'd love to know the last time a Red Sox mionr leaguer beat Niko's 1475 OPS over a month. 1.475 is actually just his Salem June OPS. Greenville is 1.819 and his total June OPS is 1.539. Needless to say, I think our June player of the month is a lock.

I just looked at our 2007 players of the month, and not even they got close to this, believe it or not! I was going to say, "My guess is Lars Anderson." Glad to know I'm wrong. My guess would've been the year before, when Bubba Bell, Aaron Bates, Zach Daeges, and Jon Still were putting up video game numbers. But yeah, even their POTM months were around 1.100-ish OPS's. Last August Yorke hit .414/.500/.816/1.316. That's the only other month over 1.300 I can find going back to 2008, which is how far back our monthly splits go. I stupidly did not also look at home runs but 13 has to be a record too. Marcus Wilson (I neglected to write down when), Chih-Hsien Chiang (July '11), Jeff Bailey (May '08) have gone over 1.200 in non-part-time/catcher sample sizes (Carson Blair and Dan Butler did it but playing ~half the time, along with guys like Zak Farkes, Bubba Bell (in Portland!), and Daniel Nava in months that they were either hurt for part or were part-time players). This morning I looked quickly at our 2007 Player of the Month write-ups, which might've been the year we started that, and they were in the 1.000ish range.

Ted Williams put up a 1200 OPS in the minors, but I can't find monthly splits. I think there's a chance Niko is closing in on an alltime Sox record.
edit: I'm guessing Barry Bonds' April 2004 is the affiliated baseball record. .472/.686/1.132. Good lord.

In 1954 for the Roswell Rockets Joe Bauman put up a 1.451 OPS and hit 72 runs in 138 games while batting .400. Can't find his monthly splits
