Looks like Lobo may have had his start skipped - Cohen is pitching today for DSL BLue.

Luis Perales so far: 3IP, 0H, 0ER, 0BB, 8K 9 outs, 8K on 25 pitches per box score? Mathematically possible but actually impossible to believe. I seem to remember something about FCL pitch counts not being accurate.

Why doesn't the "Today's Affiliate Gameday Scoreboard & Live Boxscores - Including FCL and DSL" link have actual box scores?

Luis Perales so far: 3IP, 0H, 0ER, 0BB, 8K Yeah. I think this guy bears watching. He is listed at 6'1" at 160 lbs. He just turned 19 in April. As Steve and I mentioned recently, he throws mid to possibly upper 90's ... Now! He appears to have pretty good command too...nice combo. When we watched him, he was elevating the fastball and consistently blowing it by hitters. He will appear in SP's top 60 soon..not much doubt. Bleis with speed and power...another guy on the make.

Also, might it not be possible to find a volunteer or intern who could actually count pitches?

Perales is at 52 right now but completely agree, he is trending to shoot up if this continues.

Perales and Dobbins having some great early returns this year. Hoping those guys can be part of the next wave of pitching depth.

Hope we get to see Perales on the minor league stream in Salem before the end of the year That was be ideal, but also just hoping he can stay healthy and build his innings. Seems like that has been the biggest obstacle holding him back.

Hope we get to see Perales on the minor league stream in Salem before the end of the year That was be ideal, but also just hoping he can stay healthy and build his innings. Seems like that has been the biggest obstacle holding him back. I don't recall any reports of an injury to date, and he certainly appears healthy at this juncture. Assuming that is the case, it would not be any surprise if his innings increased in the near term. One other thing...he has a pretty smooth, low apparent effort delivery. He is very slender and his frame doesn't appear (from the stands) able to house a larger bodied guy. Still, I would expect, as his body matures, he could carry 185. That certainly wouldn't hurt his stuff. Thanks to rookie kb24 for correcting me to say Perales is at 52 on SP board at present.

Perales has all of 12 career innings. He's the last guy I'd be rushing to Salem.

Also, might it not be possible to find a volunteer or intern who could actually count pitches? The FCL is just the rookies playing at the empty spring training parks. No fans, no concessions, no park staff, no money being made. It's just a player dev intern or something putting the plays into the software. The software they use spits out a pitch count regardless of whether they put in pitches or not - they aren't affirmatively saying "let's put out an inaccurate pitch count, it'll be great!" or something. There's no interest in putting in pitches at the Rookie level so they don't - they just put in the results of the play.

Perales has all of 12 career innings. He's the last guy I'd be rushing to Salem. Good...easily lost in the excitement engendered by his 2 recent short inning performances. Still, those few innings seemingly surface a promising, albeit very young pitcher. It will be fun watching this just turned 19 year old going forward. I don't expect any advancement this year. That's fine. Let him get acclimated.
