Casas starting a rehab assignment in the FCL today, per Speier. Looks like he's batting third and playing 1B. Matt Barnes also making another rehab outing.

"Live every second. Live right on to the end. Live Wyatt. Live for me ..." -Doc Holliday I actually edited the initial post - it should be Drohan after the Sunday rainout.

Alvaro Mejias: 4.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 Ks Actually pitched another inning: 5IP, 1H, 0ER, 0BB, 5K On the season: 16.2IP, 9H, 1ER, 3BB, 23K - like Perales, seems like he mostly just needs to build innings after only pitching 16.2 innings last year. Badler had labeled him as a pitcher to watch in the DSL last year.

Happy 22nd birthday to Victor Santos (who is about 3 years young for the Eastern League)!
Looking through his stats, he's got a 1.08 WHIP and 4.1 K/BB, which is p good for the young man. His 18% K-rate is below average but if he can cut down on the HRs, he should be just fine going forward.
Seems like a guy who could disappear in the Rule 5, depending on what the rest of the draft class looks like.

Looks like it's going to be Ward in Salem, not Sena.

While looking up JohnFrank, I saw that you guys who know the system are really holding out on us. Sure, you let us do our Inner Lobo puns, but why did you not tell us that his dad is a scout who signed JohnFrank, and his name is Wilder Lobo?

That was a good one, I'd be pissed. Huh? I think it was a hat tip to the now-irrelevant reference for Olds. Meanwhile, this (though I believe he still prefers Thaddeus):

Watching the Ward tape, I know itâs tough to criticize when someone strikes out the side, but he looked Kiké everything was soft, loopy and outside. Can he work the inside of the plate with a fastball to keep everyone honest or is he majority offspeed?

I asked him and he told me he is fine with either, unless he has since changed his stance.
