Good for Chaim, pulling off the difficult "verbally signed" task.

With all due respect, it appears that account (which has about 500 followers) is just regurgitating MLB Pipeline's reporting and claiming it as its own. Tony Ruiz is definitely going to sign with the Red Sox, btw. Let's just stick to more legit sources.

"Source: Thing that was reported months ago."
If someone has that they have "Red Sox sources" in their Twitter bio, that's a bit of a red flag for me.

Source: Thing that was reported months ago. Seriously, there's like 3 guys on twitter acting like they're breaking this news. So stupid

Just a reminder,
Clubs are once again allowed to trade bonus pool slots, as trades of pool money had been prohibited in the last two pandemic-impacted draft pool classes.

Cespedes is signing for ~$1,400,000, per Jesse Sanchez.

Weird that Jesse Sanchez removed the Red Sox from signing Tony Ruiz - I still expect them to sign him, but interesting to note. Maybe he isn't signing today.
ADD: Ben Badler actually did the same on his big board...maybe something's up.

We need more Outfielders and grab a few catchers
I like the aggressiveness. It’s gonna be hard to fill Eddie Romero JR shoes.

We need more Outfielders and grab a few catchers I like the aggressiveness. It’s gonna be hard to fill Eddie Romero JR shoes. If a guy's right-handed and already an outfielder at age 16, he's probably not much of an athlete. If he's right-handed and a good athlete he's playing SS at the age, the way Yaz and Reggie Smith and Mookie Betts did. Jason Varitek was a 3b and backup C in high school. Aaron Judge was a pitcher and 1b.

Amazing. The over-slot Yankees get a top 10 guy while the Red Sox are getting the 25th, or am I missing something?

I think that the Yankees penalty effects their next year pool as opposed to this one. Also the Yankees seem to put their eggs in one basket and sign 1 really expensive IFA whereas Boston ever since Flores (RIP) seems to sign multiple $1 million guys instead of 1 $3-5 million guy.

Also mentions Yoiber Ruiz (plus defense at SS, chance to move to CF), Starlin Nunez (twitchy athlete), and Kleyver Salazar (Johnfrank's brother). Very weird on Tony Ruiz - everything leading up to the signing period indicated he would be signing with the Red Sox. As I noted previously, could just be signing later and the team didn't want to comment on it.

So, Kleyver Salazar is Johnfrank's brother, and he's already 6'2, 200 lbs. Johnfrank is pretty slender.
