Haven’t posted in a long time lol but anyways Assuming Sox lose this game , to get to .500 Sox would need to win rest of remaining games , correct ? Or we don’t even have enough games left to hit .500 ?

I think I understand why Almonte was freely available to add as minor league depth despite having a pretty legit major league bat.

Just turned it on and saw the score. My immediate reaction was, "Wow, we're even losing to the crap Orioles." Then I remembered they're actually better than us now. In fact, a lot better.

The Jays just walked the MFYs off on a single by Vlad Guerrero. As he walked away from the scrum, he was pointing to himself and yelling, "My house! My house! My house!" Funny.

If some team wants to trade us their 9th round pick from last year's draft to keep Seabold on the 40 this offseason, then sign me up In reading up on Seabold since we acquired him from the Phils, I never understood his ranking. Ditto for Winckowski. Limiting contact = limiting hits = limiting runs. Not complicated. Neither of those guys has the filth, the gas, the cheese, the hair - whatever Eck term you want to use - to dominate hitters and ring up K's. Now, young Mr. Bello? That's a different story entirely.

was having a nice long phone call with a friend - during which I was watching dinger after dinger leave the park.
I've got nothing
(neither do our pitchers)

Feels like every single ball Kiké hits is smoked directly at the third baseman. His timing must be off by thismuch.

These guys throwing 100 mph can't get anyone out. Give Koji 100 MPH and the batter will return to the dugout crying for his mommy.

well...looking at the pitcher stats so far, they've all been hammered - Kelly is the only one unscathed re earned runs.
Is there anything in this gaggle worth keeping?
It's extreme, but looking at our current active roster and those injured, the only ones I'd like to see next year on the team are Wacha, Pivetta, Bello, Crawford, Whitlock, Houck, Schreiber, Barnes Story, Bogaerts, Devers, Casas, Verdugo, McGuire, Arroyo - maybe Wong
that 16 out of 28 spots

I'm not sure if anyone is aware of this, but Rob Refsnyder is hitting .315/.387/.514 this season

What more do you want out of a dirt cheap fourth outfielder?

Next year, we need to remove the "every relief pitcher must quickly give up a home run" clause in their contracts

Bizarre. We are 6-13 RISP and losing by 6 runs. we've hit into 3 DPs.
then again, they are 6-12 RISP, and hit 5 home runs. they've walked 8 times.

So - in May, Sox were 10-19 and 11-20 - the first half low points.
Now Sox are 72-81 - the second half low point. Sox have played .500 ball since May 11.

Or 30-50 since peaking ar 42-31 after their 31-11 non AL East schedule run. 30-50 is a long stretch of .375 ball which is half of 100 loss season. Unlike 2015 where the Sox finished last with the arrow pointing up, this years team was brutal in the last half of the season and finished last with the arrow pointing down. Doesnt mean it can't be turned around but this team has certainly been headed in the wrong direction for a long stretch of time.

Only 1.5 games behind Arizona. Give this team better lottery odds.

I had a nightmare last night that Eric Hosmer was on the Red Sox. And he was in Kansas City getting a standing ovation...while in a Sox uniform. I woke up in a cold sweat.
