Think I'll root for Urias to get the cycle. Why not, something to do.

My confidence in Casas making it is about as high as can be
I'm not saying he's going to be Freddie Freeman or whatever, but there's no doubt in my mind that he's a starting major league player.

It's a small sample of course, but Casas looks like the real deal. Opposite of what Franchy or Duran or Dalbec in terms of having a plan, being in control, and continually improving. I am impressed - he is showing great maturity (already) - and is a real presence.
Happy to build the 2023 and beyond team around him, Raffi, and Bello - Xander if possible too

He's not going back to AAA unless he's injured or something. The Sox need him next year at the big league level.

This particular game is just f*#king nuts! Only the 4th inning? who will be the last team standing? How many runs?

Casas is going to be so good... that kind of power with outstanding patience and a reasonable K rate, that's the makings of a middle-of-the-order bat.

It immediately makes the whole lineup seem so much tougher to get through.
I feel like it gives him a high floor too. Even if pitchers adjust and he goes cold with the bat for a stretch next year he'll probably still draw walks and he'll still provide good defense.

If we win this game, it guarantees a playoff run next year.

What's the record for most consecutive crooked half innings? We're at 5, I'll guess the record is 7 or 8.

Hell, people used to say this about Michael Chavis at one time.

Let's let this one run with no brakes. What have you got to lose?

Hell, people used to say this about Michael Chavis at one time. Ahem. Who's this "we"? Some of us were never sold on Duran...
Casas is at a 121 wRC+ through 68 PAs. Duran was at 47 through his first 69 PAs and ended the season at 48 through 112 PAs.
Casas' start is more comparable to Dalbec's, so it's not like his destiny is already written. And for the record I'll predict he hits a cold stretch when pitchers make some sotr of an adjustment. But like I said above, he starts from such a solid foundation with the plate approach and defense that the floor seems real high.

Nobody was watching Dalbec's 45% strikeout Covid September and thinking there's 0% chance he doesn't make it

Twins up 4-0
I don't think we're catching Arizona, and SF is safely ahead of us. I'm only worried about the Twins, who have the tiebreak against us

Casas is the first rookie hitter I've felt this good about since... I don't know when.
