Interesting comparison but Surprised not to see any mention of AAV. Arroyo 1.2 Story 23.6 And if you look at their Fangraphs contract value, Arroyo has been worth $2m and Story is at $19m

rough race for the BA title by Xander - 2 for his last 20.
Just one of those years when not much went well.

No team has quite kicked the crap out of the Red Sox the way Toronto has. They have brutalized Red Sox pitching.
If the Jays played the Sox 162 times they'd win more often than the Dodgers.
The Red Sox' performance against the Jays, Rays, and Yankees this season was pathetic and embarrassing.

Sure, the game is meaningless.
Yet - one team's starter struggles, pen gets lit up, has 2 bloop hits. Other team has lights out starter, effective relief, 3 home runs.
There is a huge talent gulf right now between our team and all other AL east teams. What a rubik's cube of work is needed this offseason.

Springer is always up to demolished this team. They've got pitchers with ZERO control and is force to grooved

Bloom says the team will be vastly improved 2023. Show us what you got Chaim. Now THAT will be some kind of 3 dimensional chess! The 2012 Red Sox seemed to be in worse shape than this year's team but they went out and won the World Series the following year, so miracles can happen, but then again if they occurred with any regularity, then it wouldn't be a miracle, would it?

Can we see similar turnover, similar resurgence, and key veteran additions? Nothing is impossible - but in this division it may take a miracle indeed!

But it's not really is fault they played him wildly outof position.

Nothing is impossible - but in this division it may take a miracle indeed! We'll see, of course, but the situation is that a) they had an especially bad run of injury luck this year, and b) they have a ton of money coming off the books and a ton of flexibility in how they might remake the roster, which is as good a set-up as you can have for turning things around.
Consider: they spent $78 million on Price, Sale, Eovaldi, and JDM this year, and got less than 2 WAR out of them combined. If Sale can give them anything at all, and if Bloom can spend the other $52 million in a remotely efficient way, that already puts them on track to be much better next year.

All I thought I saw from him this year was half a season of good defense, a couple hot streaks and a zillions strikeouts. Thank you Fangraphs for changing my line of thinking entirely.

I mean yeah, he played elite defense at 2B with average offense, which put him on a 4 WAR pace for 94 games. That's about two and a half WAR. What part of the calculation do you disagree with?

Bello is giving me Fausto Carmona vibes, really good stuff but vulnerable to solid opposite field approaches
Edit: what a play by Kiké wow

Jays 112 runs, Sox 53 runs this season over 18 games, Jays 14-4 (if today becomes a loss) record

Jays 112 runs, Sox 53 runs this season over 18 games, Jays 14-4 (if today becomes a loss) record They are such a relentlessly boring team to watch. Had to find something else to watch for entertainment. On the bright side you can say the Red Sox are playing October baseball, albeit not very well. Usually the end of the season brings on sadness that there's no baseball for awhile. I can honestly say this year's team alleviated that. I've seen enough baseball from the 2022 Red Sox. I'm good.
