Tom Hamilton might be the best radio announcer in MLB.

Lol, everyone is calling for Boone's head tonight. Clay Holmes and Severino throwing him under the bus. Extend Boone!

The hits keep on coming, padres in prime position to take the lead late
Add: only thing that would make this rally better was if we can hear orsillo call the inning

so far this playoffs is proving again that you just have to get in, and anything can and will happen
Padres and Phillies just as everyone predicted

Loving the underdog victories. Yes, I would love to see Philadelphia, San Diego, Cleveland, and Seattle win. My favorite team is the: 1) Red Sox 2) anyone playing the MFY 3) anyone playing the Dodgers 4) anyone playing last year’s WS winner 5) anyone playing Toronto (except 2 thru 4) Lol Wow, today was great! 2) MFY were in prime 2004 ALCS form 3) Dodgers pulling a MFY 2004 choke 4) Last year’s WS already out 5) Toronto gonersville Looking good except 1)…

My curmudgeonly opinion is that the Phillies are a pretty mediocre team and the new playoff system getting them into the NLCS instead of an actual quality team is not very good for baseball.
The bright side is that everything the Phillies do well makes Joe Girardi look more and more incompetent.

The bright side is that everything the Phillies do well makes Joe Girardi look more and more incompetent. I was watching hockey the other night and i heard someone say it’s harder to make the playoffs then win the cup. I really sat back and thought about it and I had to agree. Baseballs a little different but the favorites don’t have the best track record. It’s the hottest/healthiest team and best managed team that wins. That was the Phillies. I’ll tell you right now I will not miss one Padres-Phillies game and Dodgers/ATL wouldn’t really excite me. It’s great for baseball because these are 2 small market teams that went out and made moves and it worked. Phillies we’re a joke before they got Harper in 2019. Padres we’re the same and signed Machado in 2019. They both made huge splashes then built around them and in 3 years both went from a joke to NLCS. I respect the hell out of that.

The ghost of Dombrowski is lurking in the halls of Sox Prospects. Be afraid...be very afraid. The curse of the Bambino solved by 4 WS championships won under Henry ownership. The new curse of Dombrowski started in 2020 will be solved by the next home grown core of prospects….. Ha. The Curse of Dombrowski isn't a thing, unless you believe that winning division titles and a World Series is a curse. I don't have rooting interests in baseball outside the Red Sox. so it doesn't matter to me if he wins or not. This is just having a little fun with the virulent anti-Dombrowski members on this site.

My curmudgeonly opinion is that the Phillies are a pretty mediocre team and the new playoff system getting them into the NLCS instead of an actual quality team is not very good for baseball. Well isn't MLB and the commissioner aiming for parity? This is how I think they want things to play out. They definitely want the big markets in it every year, but I don't think they want the same teams going to the world series every year. The new system helps that. Now teams and GMs will question how they set up their rotation and teams before the last games of the season when you win the top 2 seeds in each league. The rust factor, might be a thing to watch out for. Every one of the top 4 teams besides the Astros have come out flat.
