This Sixers team is goofy.
I really liked Marcus Smart tonight. If Tatum and Brown had his confidence and effort, we’d be a dynasty already.

Nice challenge there. Took two free throws off the table and was a de facto turnover with no time left on the shot clock. No idea how the rule is written, but it's BS that they got 1.7 seconds. That's what was left when he was stripped. By the time he got it back it would have been under 1. |

Tatum really did play a crap game and those couple threes at the end don’t really salvage it.

My first thoughts - it really shouldn't be this hard. But - we live to fight another day.
This is a very imperfect, very talented team that still struggles mightily when it shouldn't.
NO IDEA what to expect in game 7. But if they play D, they will win.
Tatum after game interview - first line - "I am one of the best basketball players in the world". Confidence much!

Feel really good after that one. A great defensive win with Tatum off his game and I really liked that 2 big lineup. See you Sunday.

Crazy how 2 minutes of good basketball could completely alter Tatum’s legacy. If Boston wins game 7, people will actually remember game 6 as a clutch performance for Tatum. When it looked like one of the all-time postseason stinkers with 4 minutes left in the game! Incredible.
There’s so much variance and runs in the NBA because of the three point shooting. No lead is safe. Proud of our team that they played the full 48 minutes and did not quit like some of the fans that post here.

Wow, now I'm pissed I missed most of the game. I know a lot of people hate close nail-biters, I love them. I like being so nervous I have to get up and walk around to burn off that nervous energy. This team can certainly be maddening but they still can be World Champions at least they can be, until at least Sunday, and for that I'm thankful.

I will say this: the defense in this one was at a very high level early on. I really wish they would stop helping onto Harden. But if they play with urgency, I think good things could happen in game 7.
Also, thank you Smart for pushing the ball. Finally.

Like I said I finally got home to sit down and watch the game with under seven minutes left so take this with a grain of salt, but Tatum certainly did appear to salvage the game with the barage of late 3's. Maybe what your saying is akin to a closer in baseball can't get a save if he created the save situation himself?? |

The complaint is that there are teams who do more with less talent every season. In fact, there are many players who do more with less. And the question is, why? |

I've been critical of Smart often over the years. But - wow - Smart played a complete game tonight. He totally willed this win. The number of head scratching decisions or turnovers was very low - it was fun to watch him play.

We all know that the refs were in concert with the league to give this game to the Cs. A 7 game series is what the league wants to maximize revenues. Am I right? So the Cs do not deserve credit as the outcome was preordained. At least this is what I have heard here. |

Marcus (and to a lesser extent Rob) absolutely owned this game on both ends of the court. Typically single-game plus/minus stats are silly, but there’s a reason they were both +18 in a game the Celtics only won by 9. There’s also a reason their best defensive performance came on a night when Rob started. Let’s hope they can recapture some magic with that lineup. |
