A great playoff enhancement would be for there would be a way for both teams in a series to lose.

I’ve been hard on Harper in the past, but he’s stepping up.

The Padres better get to the world series, because there's no chance in hell that the Phillies are beating New York. The Padres are our last line of defense lol.

The final 4. So I can live with Padres and Astros. Then Phil’s and that’s it.
By the way Terrible move by Tito. He should of started Bieber.

Verlander - 175 IP, 1.75 ERA Valdez - 201.1 IP, 2.82 ERA McCullers - 47.2 IP, 2.27 ERA Javier - 148.2 IP, 2.54 ERA
What sweet nothings is Martin Maldonado whispering into all of their starting pitchers' ears

No chance New York beats the Asstrolls. I wouldn't go that far. We all know anything can happen but the Astros are -225 on the ML to start the series. That is a pretty prohibitive favorite. Barring some major injury or underperformance by the 'Stros, the MFY will be heading for the links.

Barring some major injury or underperformance by the 'Stros, the MFY will be heading for the links. I think the Astros are clearly a better team than the Yankees, but, you know... it's baseball. The Yankees don't need an underperformance by the Astros to win; some BABIP and sequencing luck would do the trick.
Also -225 seems pretty high to me. Now admittedly I don't know what that number means or how betting works. But Zips has the odds at like 55-45 in favor of the Astros, hardly "prohibitive favorites," and while I might quibble and call it 60-40, I think having the Astros as slight favorites is probably closer to the truth.
I know you said "anything can happen" so this isn't directed at you, but it's funny that after what we just saw in the wild card and divisional rounds, some people are turning right around and making predictions with total certainty about how the LCS will go.

Today I learned that Kyle Schwarber, who had a .323 OBP and runs like an opiated sloth, and also led the NL with 46 home runs, has been the Phillies' leadoff hitter all season.
Between this and the Yankees batting Judge leadoff down the stretch, what's going on here? (Were the Yankees just trying to maximize Judge's PAs so he could break the home run record? Seems misguided; seems much better as a way to increase the amount of walks he'd get rather than homers.)

i am not a big bettor either, but i have many degenerate friends. It means you have to bet $225 to win $100. That is not good value. On the flip side the MFY are +140, which means you get $40 on a hundred bet, if they win. It isn't a bet most good gamblers would take, on either end. I don't mean to sound overconfident, but the MFY have been living off a torrid start for a long time now. They could get hot again, but allowing for baseball being baseball, this isn't a great matchup for them.

I'm not sure what the Yankees are thinking, but I have had the thought that it pays to have your best hitters at the top of the order so they get the most third time through the order PAs. If Judge is batting 4th, he probably sees a lot more fresh relievers instead.

God clearly took some major bribes to help out the Phillies in this inning.

Trent Grisham's season is probably what the Red Sox thought they could get out of JBJ when they traded Renfroe for him. He hit .184/.284/.341, an 83 wRC+, but gave them great defense and was worth 2.4 fWAR - compare to Renfroe's 2.5. So the Renfroe-for-JBJ exchange would be a wash and you'd buy a couple prospects for the difference in salary. That wouldn't have been an unreasonable bar to set for JBJ's offense, but he just couldn't reach it.
