Any word on what the reason (s) were for the click and now Asst GM firing? Owner doesn’t get along with the GM if you want to see toxic ownership that’s exhibit A imo Guy wins a WS and is offered a 1 yr deal a week later to be a lame duck GM in 2024. Insulting.

In the owners defense, what did James Click actually build?
Jeff Luhnow was the guy who built their whole core together.
If there wasn't a good working relationship, why keep it going with that GM?
Maybe Jim Crane can rehire Luhnow now.

Surprised we haven't heard a lot of trade chatter yet. This is the first one of the off-season.

Maybe Jim Crane can rehire Luhnow now. ...and in Click's defense, his primary responsibility was to clean up the culture left behind by "Luhnow & Friends"....The Astros also lost draft picks which limited anyone's ability to rebuild/restock their system.

Twitter blue, and 500 followers... might need a second source on this one Is Jon Morosi a good enough source? Sure, but Morosi doesn't drop the absolute bomb of Glasnow. I think he'd mention him if true since that tweet would absolutely blow up. For all we know, Morosi could be talking about middle relievers

It's not a real blowup that the first guy assumed it was Glasnow. Tyler Glasnow is entering his last year of control in arbitration and there's a lot of teams that'd be interested in him.
If there's one pitcher that's available on the Rays, it's him.

Check out the timestamps on those two tweets and I think you can figure out what's going on here...

Jon Morosi @jonmorosi Great sign for industry health: Multiple MLB player agents told me yesterday that they view the lucrative Robert Suárez and Rafael Montero contracts as evidence of a strong free agent market.
Translation: Everyone thinks those contracts were insane

That'd be one way to cut down on their prospect crunch

Adley Rutcshman finished 2nd in ROY, which under the new CBA means he goes from 0 years, 138 days of service to 1 year of service. So that's nice.

Brendan McKay is interesting for the future. TOS is a tough one to come back from. Not sure what the success rate is for hitters since he's a two way player.

The Yankees have competition from the Astros for Rizzo. He's a miniature version of the Judge problem for them: he's either gonna cost them more to keep or else they have a big hole to fill in an already thin lineup.

On Perez' performance this year, I wonder if it was a case of the Red Sox being not wrong, just early? Maybe they saw the breakout coming but it just took longer to come than they'd hoped? Or else did the Rangers succeed in extracting this breakout from him where the Red Sox failed? In any case, I do vaguely recall them indicating they had some sense that there *was* a potential breakout there when they signed him pre-2020.

That Anderson deal doesn't look crazy. Can they squeeze 5 WAR out of him over 3 years? That might be a little optimistic, but not outrageous IMO.
