Apparently JSN ran unofficially a 4.48-4.52 40 at his pro day didn’t see anything about if the Pats were heavy in there but its a good 40 for him when combined with his other workout numbers.

Earlier reports said that Pats WR and OL coaches were attending.

Yeah Patriots had to be at Ohio States pro day, JSN, LT, RT and OC. That's what JSN had to run, yet with JuJu in the slot that makes things hard.
Jets shipped out Moore for a 2nd, yet included a 3rd. Moving down 30 spots, two years cheap control. That's the type of deal I'd love to make if you want to add another player at WR.

Jalen Mills to be released. Sometimes it almost seems like BB knows what he is doing. PFF had Mills 115 out of 118 CBs. That post did not age well. How much worse would Mills have to play before BB would not have resigned him? Same question with Myles Bryant.

Fwiw, when Mills signed in 2021 I’m pretty sure I remember the guys at pff didn’t like the signing if Mills was gonna play cornerback, and were more ok with it if he was going to play safety.

Now I hope he doesn’t make the team but he’s not a terrible insurance policy to have around.

Lefty punter alert
pinned the niners within the 20 yard line 6 times in an 11-10 win last year. AFC ST player of the week

Seems his best traits are kicks inside the 20, which I'm sure Bill loves. Yet seems to have weaker leg than Bailey overall and Folk can't do kickoffs. It's the crazy thing with Folk, you need a punter that good at kickoffs and Bailey wasn't even great. Yet when he went down everything went to crap. You can't have good special teams with a kicker shorting so many kickoffs and not even 10% touchbacks.

Could be but I see them using a pick on one and at least having a competition

The bar at kicker is much higher than punter, as Folk is still a very reliable kicker. Both positions aren't great, as most places say there isn't a kicker or punter who will 100% be drafted. There's no 4th round punter or kicker, yet I like the Punters more. Now we know there will likely be some drafted.
These rankings differ yet Baringer, Korsak, Turk, Evans and Robbins at punter. I like the top four, yet all of the top 5 had much longer punts than the guy we just signed, who maxed out at 59 yards, Robbins the lowest of that group was 64, top 3 are all in the 70s. I'd likely go after the bigger leg guys like Baringer or Turk, Bill likely goes after Korsak, who's easily the best directional kicker in draft and had a 77 yard punt. Given Korsak is from Rutgers that just makes it more likely in my book. Evans was also a kicker and did kickoffs.
At kicker I like Ryland and Moody, likely lean towards Moody for the bigger leg. That's Folks issue, shows up during windy games and on kickoffs. Yet he's still darn good at longer kicks somehow.
I've targeted the 6th round and wouldn't mind taking a punter and kicker. Yet I feel like the top 4 Punters can easily beat out the guy we just signed, the Kickers will have a true battle on there hands. Yet it's worth it, Bill is all in on special teams and special teams start with Kickers and Punters.
If I had to guess, Bill takes Korsak in the 5th, he always over drafts the guys he likes and maybe takes a kicker later, yet who knows.

Bailey said he hurt his back doing squats and the patriots made him do them. Says he feels great now that he hasn’t been squatting

CBS sports mocked Witherspoon to the Patriots on a recent mock draft, saying he’s falling after not working out. I would absolutely love Witherspoon as a corner or safety.

Brian Baldinger did a Twitter work-up on Witherspoon and said he might be the best cover guy and best hitter in this draft. Then showed a couple of plays of him blowing up guys. I think Rodney might be impressed.

I believe BB typically drafts his ST guys that he really wants in the fifth round, the rationale being that player success rates don't significantly differ between rounds 5-7, so is better to get your top-rated K (or P or LS, etc) vs. 22nd rated CB or WR or OL, etc.

This year there will be some real dudes at running back, tight end and edge in the 4th, positions that the Patriots will need to replenish in a year.

I like JSN a lot and think he’ll be a star, especially with a qb like Mac. But Zay is very Steve Smithy, very ABish. He has a certain charisma and love for the craft. He had nothing throwing his way at BC either.

For me the NFL draft is like playing chess, you need to be looking many moves ahead. That starts with ranking the position groups and where the likely players you want at certain positions start to disappear.
I certainly won't say CB isn't an option at 14, it should be. Yet it's an incredibly group this year, very deep class with tons of size. Very good options in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even next rounds. Wouldn't surprise me for Bill to find another undrafted gem at CB from this class. Has a bunch of studs and great depth.
OT, especially LT is not great. It has studs, it lacks great depth, heck it doesn't even really have much at all. Not bad at RT, yet LT is rather bad.
WR I don't like the studs, basically because there aren't any besides one guy, who has only one year of production. Yet I'm really liking the depth. One thing that sucks is the strength is small slot WR and we just signed a slot WR to a 3 year deal, who can't do much more than play slot.
FS are horrible, just like LBers. RB and TEs are loaded, along with Edge guys.

This roster still lacks blue chip talent so I just want them to draft the best players available. I don’t care what position it is as long as it’s not a running back in the first round
