It's sad/pathetic to see what Samuel harbors all these years later.

Do you even consider a Jonah Williams for Trent Brown trade if you can't get a LT in draft or don't like them?

Hoyer to LVR. Pats will get a credit on their 2024 cap.

Hoyer to LVR. Pats will get a credit on their 2024 cap. That's vastly more valuable than Hoyer. His demeanor really disappointed me.

Good. It shows the Patriots don't want him and that other NFL teams don't value him. Either Bill likes Zappe more or he has plans for something else.

Given reports that Hoyer was let go because he was seen as basically embolding Mac Jones to act and do what he did. Bill going out of his way to not name a starter, multiple times now. Reports that Zappe won over part of the lockeroom at times. I'm not surprised, yet one big thing is missing. Who called who? Patriots shopping him or other teams called and he was willing to listen? I'm not trading Mac Jones just to trade him, heck I'm not even trying to trade him. Yet he's also not off limits and I'd certainly listen to offers if other teams called.
Heck that tweet from Kraft might actually mean something more now, if this is true. As in Bills shopping him and not just taking calls. Krafts basically saying well if you want to move on, here's a way.
I won't fully buy this till confirmed and no way someone from those four other teams won't talk.
I was just getting ready to dig into Will Levi's given reports his stock is falling big time. Seems worth a look if he's going to be there at 14, now maybe that means a lot more.
At the very least, you might have a true training camp battle where Zappe isn't there to just push Mac Jones. Yet has a legit chance of winning the job. I say bring it on, let the best QB win.

Mark Daniels and Chris Mason feel quite differently about the report, FWIW.

IF, and that's a huge IF, IF they are really shopping Mac around and are seriously considering moving on from him, then he got shafted and they could lose out on a really good QB. The coaching around him last season was a circus and he had no shot. Bill is the GOAT and I'm a random nobody, but the Hood should do a mea culpa and say like yeah bro I messed up, I was tripping balls when I said Patricia could run the offense LMAO instead of throwing Mac under the bus like this. Man up to your errors.
Again, IF any of this is true. And I say that with all due respect to Bill, but this would be IMO the biggest mistake he has ever done.

Come on now, this all has to do with Mac Jones actions, not the results. Bill isn't pissed about his passing yards or TDs. It's about him not buying in, not acting like a leader and going outside the organization for help. He literally lost part of the lockeroom, who wanted Zappe. If he acted like a professional team first leader none of this is going on.
There's a reason Zappe looked so good last year and it has everything to do with him buying in. He didn't go against the coaching.
You can not agree and not like the coaching, there's a right and wrong way to handle that. How Mac Jones handled it is why he's dealing with this. The recent reports about him and Hoyer during spring training just make it worse.

How can we know what "this has to do with" when we don't know what "this" is?
Florio's report could be anything from
- 100% bs to - "information w/o context" to - 100% true (in the most literal interpretation) to - intentional leaking by some party with a vested interest (which isn't necessarily exclusive from the others)
and yet, here we are again . . .
Sports fans really are an audience ripe for the style of "reporting" that permeates the sports media industry.

This isn’t about anyone report, it's about all of them. The Patriots are spewing crap like never before. We have no clue exactly what that one trade report means. We do know 100% why it happened, Bills pissed at Mac Jones. This is the coach who benched Welker for a foot joke and we still have no clue about Butler and the Superbowl.
I can speculate the true meaning, Bills likely pissed at the narrative that last season was 100% on him. Sure seems he wants the world to know certain QBs didn't buy in and certainly feels like he thinks that was part of the problem. This is the guy who benched Welker for a harmless joke. Who traded Collins mid season for free lancing plays.
Add in our owner tweeting about Lamar Jackson wanting to be a Patriot and it's Bills decision. Everyone jumped on the Jackson train and it feels like not enough has gone into our Owner actually doing that.

Anyone else feel like a messy divorce is coming for Bill and the Pats?
the team is mediocre at best and Bill's way only gets a pass when the team is winning at a big level. He cant use the "last 25 years" quote when the last 4 have been pretty blah.
If they find a way to get Lamar i think there will be a big turnaround in perception, but as a huge Bill supporter its starting to get weird.

In fact I respect him more for rebelling against Matt Patricia as an OC. That's all on Bill and he should have the humility to admit his coaching hire was atrocious.

I'm still on the Mac Train but I DO NOT agree. Can't think of too many situations (sports, life, etc) where going behind the backs of leadership is a good idea.

Did he think Bill was not gonna find out given his connections at Alabama.
Anyways Mac just needs to show up to camp and win the job presumably now coaching is not gonna be an issue and he has a head start given he knows O’Brien already so the excuses are pretty much over.

I get it, it's kind of a dick move and an insubordinate way to do it. Then again, MATT PATRICIA AS THE OC. Mac messed up, but so did Bill. They should get together, have a beer and both promise to not do that sh*t again.

I'm still in the "they wanted OB last year but neither party was willing to screw over Saban so, outside of a miraculous season, MP was ALWAYS just a placeholder". Crappy plan. Especially for a young QB.

Even if that's the situation, having no succession plan for McDaniels and being so inflexible on what offense should be that you use an unqualified crony is malpractice for The Best Coach Ever.

The alternative for Belichick is that he rides into next year hinging one of his last few years on a guy who will have 1/3 of his passes swatted down by ok defenses So yeah- unless you plan on trading for Lamar it’s kiss and make up time
