Previewing the roster movement today:
Worcester at -1. Adding Núñez, Dalbec, Rafaela. Likely Rosier and Ferguson back to Portland and Greenville, respectively.
Portland full. Swaps Rafaela for Rosier.
Greenville -2. Gets Ferguson back.
Salem full. Looks like they're swapping Simon for Brannon.
FCL likely getting Simon and Fraymi De Leon.

Projected Salem rotation looks to be
Wednesday: Paez Thursday: Dean Friday: ERC Saturday: Ramirez Sunday: Perales Monday: Monegro
Does this look right? I’ll be hitting most of the games this week and want to see who I’ll be seeing.

Projected Salem rotation looks to be Wednesday: Paez Thursday: Dean Friday: ERC Saturday: Ramirez Sunday: Perales Monday: Monegro Does this look right? I’ll be hitting most of the games this week and want to see who I’ll be seeing. Ah, hadn't thought to look yet. Tough to tell because of the two rain outs last week and the two days off entering the series, as they've kept Perales on schedule at the expense of other guys before, for example. Entering last week, the rotation had reliably been T - Dean W - ERC Th - Blalock F - Ramirez Sa - Perales Su - Paez Last week, Dean, Ramirez, and Perales stayed on schedule and Monegro got Sunday. In theory, your rotation looks right, save for being unclear how they'll handle ERC, who didn't pitch at all last week, just like Paez. So the first 3 are likely the first 3 in some order, and they could easily move Perales up to keep him on Saturdays. Hoping to be there over the weekend at least. Come say hi!

The years may pass, the people may come and go, but we can always count on Casey Lawrence getting starts for the Buffalo Bisons. Here is the box score for the first start Casey Lawrence made for Buffalo: www.milb.com/gameday/chiefs-vs-bisons/2013/04/08/355854#game_state=final,game_tab=,game=355854 He was relieved by Buddy Carlyle. Buddy Carlyle made his major league debut in 1999, and the first batter he faced was Marquis Grissom. (Bringing this a step further, Grissom's first MLB at-bat was against Fernando Valenzuela). The Buffalo left fielder that behind Lawrence was Ryan Langerhans, whose first career at-bat was as a pinch hitter against Mike Remlinger.

If JohnFrank Salazar was suspended..How did he play in yesterdays game and be the player of the day? How does that work?

Taylor Broadway got demoted to Portland. Tough year so far after a strong second half of last season.

Roman Anthony with another lead off home run. No video feed unfortunately. Since Bleis is out for year may as well make Anthony my new must follow prospect. Loving what he's done so far at Greenville so far.

Roman Anthony is a prospect that excites me as well.
Though I'm very curious how his (*not great) underlying metrics end up by seasons end.
*a mod described his [advanced stats as underwhelming] in a previous thread

As far as I know, a lot of the underlying metrics look great including chase rate (although he's very passive overall and could stand to swing more in zone), in zone contact, and his exit velocity data. I think the aspect of his underlying metrics with room for improvement are his GB vs. LD vs. FB tendencies with much more GB than ideal although note his GB% was around 60% last year (way too high) and closer to 50% in Salem this year (still high but moving in right direction). It's lower in Greenville if FanGraphs is accurate and up to date but minuscule sample that can fluctuate a fair amount daily.

I think what you’re referring to is Chris saying that his batted ball data is worse in Greenville than it was in Salem, but that because of the hitter friendly environment, the results have been better in Greenville. But having worse batted ball data at a higher level of the minors is only natural.

"Anthony's batted ball data is, if anything, worse, believe it or not. Just a much friendlier set of parks for hitters."

Anthony followed up the HR with three straight walks Bonaci with a HR I think he's rocking a OPS over 1.100 in high A ball now. He looks incredible.

Also with a single and a walk so far. .286/.308/.386 start to his season. Don't think I expect him to keep up that triple slash line, but either way he's keeping his head above water at the plate as a 19 y/o legit catcher.

Yeah, to be clear, Anthony has stood out for having fantastic underlying data on things like in-zone contact rate, chase rate, and exit velocity metrics that belied pretty pedestrian numbers in Salem like his average and slugging. A big part of the explanation for the lack of correlation was his very high ground ball rate. My point in the above was that his groundball rate was only marginally better, and the other underlying metrics were a bit worse. The difference is a jump from a HR/FB percentage of 3.3% to 50%, which likely is the more forgiving parks in the Sally.

Anthony followed up the HR with three straight walks Bonaci with a HR And Anthony adds a double. Bonaci has been great, but also striking out a bunch. Back-to-back 3 K games.
