Anthony & Rafaela for Snell but I don't believe it was real.

Sale 2IP 1H 2BB 3K 40P/26S 0GO/2FO Allowing him to go 40 pitches in his first rehab. A little surprised by that but I think that's a pretty good sign. Shouldn't take too long to build to 60-70 at which point he'd probably be ready to be an opener who can go 3-4 innings.

Not bad velocity for a guys first rehab start. Here's to hoping he can pick up where he left off before going on IL.

Is it bad to be worried about Mayer currently seems he can hit Double A pitching. Looks like he's over matched at this level. I mean, he's in AA at age 20 and he's been there for all of 40 games. He's so ridiculously age-advanced for the level that it's pretty much impossible for me to be concerned with his results at any point in the near future. If he's still stalled out this time next year, let's talk. Time is on his side. He'll figure it out.

Rafaela, Anthony, Yorke, Blaze and Cespedes all homer. That’s like all my favorites. I LOVE IT!! Glad they are all still on the team. Future is POPPING! 😂
Mayer time to step it up kid!

The strikeout thing is recent. Before the ASB, he had a 21% K rate. Since then, 43% in 13 games, 56 PA.
My guess? Pre-break, it's all BABIP luck (.186). Since the break the BABIP is back up to .357. Ian reported he's getting nothing but offspeed and breaking balls right now. Looks like an adjustment by EL pitching that he needs to adjust to. Still not anything that concerns me but something to track.

I think even then like 10 of the K’s have come in the last 3 games, so that skews the numbers a bit
Before it was luck, these last few games are clearly a slump though. Oh well, adversity isn’t a bad thing and he’s super young for the level. He’ll adjust, I’m not concerned

Mayer is a 20 year old wunderkind prospect who is facing adversity in his baseball life for the first time as far as I can recall. Obviously in a perfect world Mayer would cruise all the way up the ladder to the MLB but that's not realistic for 99% of the prospects who ever played the sport. Baseball is a game of adjustments and in a way perhaps it isn't a bad thing for his career to face some adversity and have to make an adjustment.
As others have said something to monitor but not something that is giving me enough cause for concern at the moment to ding him from super prospect status.
