Portes pulled after 10 batters/45 pitches. 1 hit, two walks, two strikeouts. Stream was not working for the Salem game unfortunately.

DSL Red Sox Red game is in a delay, but the lineup is: Anderson Fermin CF Jhoan Peguero RF Enddy Azocar LF Alexander Mambel 1B Justin Barry 3B Efren Teran SS Jorge Rodriguez C Kenyon Simmons 2B Chad Delancy Dh Charlie Zink SP Maybe I’m overreacting but Carlos Carrasquel batted 8th yesterday and is completely out of the lineup today which is uhhhh not great for a guy they just spent $590,000 on

Calling Portes a relief pitcher is such a cop out. Yes, all of his appearances were in relief, but it was clearly in a piggyback role.

OUCH!! Worcester with 5 errors through 6 defensive innings tonight.
Probably a result of calling up all-purpose gold glover Dalbec.

Kristian Campbell keeps raking no matter what level he's competing in.

Campbell with a WEIRD triple in the bottom of the 8th just now. RFer seemed to lose it in the dusk/lights? Almost turned into a little league homer.
…and he scores on an rbi single from Paulinho to extend the lead to 9-5.
Nice start for Campbell in AA.

Would have to imagine Cespedes might find his way up to Salem sooner or later at this rate. He is not being challenged very much at the FCL it seems. Then again perhaps I am getting ahead of myself since it's been 17 games and 61 ABs. If he keeps it up, it won't be long. The Sox are pretty aggressive with promotions in general, but that's especially true with the FCL. It'll probably be closer to game 35-40, but it's not unheard of for them to promote players in the FCL after 20 or so games. He has 9bb/12k in 77 PA, so on paper it looks like he has pretty good control over the strike zone. If he does get promoted to Salem soon and continues to mash, it will be interesting to see where he ranks at the end of the year. He's already 5th on SP, and the 4 guys above him are pretty big deals themselves.

Just noticed Jhostynixon Garcia hit another HR last night.
It's only 5 games, but he hasn't slowed down since being promoted to Greenville. Slashing .316/.409/.632 with 2 HR in 19 AB (22 PA).
For the year, he's hitting .269/.373/.537 in 126 PA with 14 xbh and 7 HR. He's still just 21 years old and has always hit for power and walked a decent amount. He just never hit for any type of average.
It could just be random coincidence, but he's been on another level since playing with his brother.
2023 prior to brother's promotion: .218/.313/.340 in 227 PA. 25bb/62k, 16xbh/3HR, .299 BAbip 2023 after his brother's promotion: .265/.374/.471 in 83 PA. 12bb/17k, 8xbh/1HR, .327 BAbip.
His last 200+ PA are really encouraging, anyway.
