Only one MLB player (Alec Bohm) has more doubles than Mayer’s 24.

Teel and Mayer gotta be closing in on promotions to Worcester right? I almost expect next Tuesday, all star break at the latest. And it would be great if Kristian joined them before the year ended.

Lol he admired that one too. How much longer does he have to do this to make top 100 lists? He’s going absolutely ripshit almost the entire year so far. He was pretty great last year too, he’s done nothing but hit since being drafted. If he keeps these numbers up through the Summer releases, he’s gotta sneak on some lists. It’s not like he’s old, there seems to be a legitimate change in approach, and most importantly (for me, at least), he has a huge margin for error because he’s 6’3” and athletic.

Wonder what Campbell's Z-contact is looking like since being in Portland, certainly the "back of the baseball card stats" are shockingly good and he absolutely annihilates the baseball.
You have to think if that one worrisome metric improves, then scouts will be less concerned with the weirdness of the swing -- and weird swings can work too. As mentioned on the pod, Hunter Pence is a good example of a bizarre swing working in the big leagues, another one I keep thinking of is Carl Crawford.
