I think Marrero needs to be on the roster.

Fantastic game! Love seeing the Sox bludgeon the Orioles and get revenge on them with a timely sweep. Chris Sale was vintage Chris Sale. Congrats on 300 Ks. Awesome milestone. And excellent to see him so dominant so late in the season. This is the Chris Sale they'll need in the off-season. Nice to see the offense explode. Hanley swung the bat well as did Betts and Marrero. 26 straight shutout innings. That is some excellent pitching. I remember the Sox throwing 3 straight shutouts against Toronto in 1990. This staff is approaching that. Good point on Hanley. Not a ton of mentions for him tonight, but he had a good night after a few days off. If that allowed him to finally reset a little and heal up, it could be huge going forward.

Big sweep. Can clinch a playoff spot tonight if CLE beats LAA. If not, the Angels move within .5 of the 2nd wildcard. Probably prefer they take that spot after the way MIN looked in NY this week.
Final off day of the season tomorrow. I gotta say, not particularly looking forward to Porcello in Cincy.

Let's blow up Chris Sale's arm for one more K. Good Lord, this kind of lack of judgment and poor leadership should be a suspension offense by the Front Office. yah its totally because JF is a dumbass and not possibly because SALE ASKED TO GO BACK OUT THERE Farrell is the manager...

If, as the article points out, a team uses him in a rotation similar to Japan's (and then adjusts the other pitchers accordingly), he could be a DH/PH and get 350 or so ABs. Added bonus, 350 less ABs for Hanley... Or just give up the DH on days he pitches But then you need to PH for relievers after he comes out.

Good for Sale, great accomplishment and all that. But that was idiotic.

ugh. Yanks still up 2-1. Chapman strikes out Mauer on 3 pitches and gets Buxton to hit a fly ball right to Judge on the first pitch.

Umps doing ump things.
AP2005 is right, the way Contreras sorta stabbed at it probably didn't help. I do love Lackey pointing out how even Martinez knew it was a strike and started walking to the dugout.
Gotta love Baez running in there and trying to reign in his teammates. He continues to be one of my favorite non-red sox in MLB, despite those braids.
