It's on NESN if you're in the area.

For those of you who are able to watch, does Ranaudo look as good as his line score? 4IP 2H 0R 0BB 3K
If Ben and the boys hadn't promoted him, I'd be watching him at Bowie today. Damn you, Ben!

Shaky first, but Ranaudo has been cruising ever since.

Nice to see Peavy, Ranaudo, and Owens all have such successful debuts this weekend.

If they don't want me to want Bogaerts on this team right now they should not put him on NESN.

How did Xander do?
I need Buttrey to complete the trifecta of promotions. With Owens,Ranaudo being the other 2. I personally believe Kukuk has progressed nicely from the beginning of the year. What a year.
I think my five disappointments were WMB,Perkins, Barnes, Brentz, and actually shortstops in the system.
I know Barnes has comeback lately. But this is how I feel. I know I am probably leaving out someone worse.

X showed a nice range and good arm today. Didn't look out of place at all in the field.

Nice of NESN to provide the Buffalo feed for the game and Renaudo's AAA debut. He was impresssive. Always around the plate and mixing up a good change with his FB.
Just wonderin', though; why is Bob Stanley the pitching coach for Buffalo and not in our organization?

Steamer! Does anyone know why he had that nickname? Stanley Steamer is a carpet cleaning company. His name is Stanley. Hence, Steamer.

Being picky here but it worries me that Buttrey once again had few K's. Today, in his 5 innings, he had none. This is low A and if he isn't dominating down here I'm not sure what this says about his stuff. He is throwing strikes. People are not smacking him around, but he isn't getting many swings and misses at all!
Has anyone seen him this year? What is your opinion of his stuff?

I said this before when you pined for Buttrey's promotion a couple weeks ago. It ain't happening. While he's pitched ok - at the results have been ok, have you looked at his K rate? He can't get any strikeouts in short season ball. Has to make one wary. Yeah, he'll be in Lowell all season, so make your plans go to the park and see him pitch! He's still intriguing and you should be able to catch him in Greenville next year.

Boy Ranaudo looked great today! Excellent breaking ball and very good command of his fastball. Nice debut in AAA.
Xander is impressive even when he doesn't hit it far. Looked solid at short, and I really liked his adjustment to Germano's curve the next time up when he stayed on it and hit his single. The double he pulled was hit hard down the line. The announcers were mentioning that the outfielders were playing him to hit it to the right side and he steps up and pulls it. His plate discipline has REALLY improved also!

Steamer! Does anyone know why he had that nickname? Actually I just found out from Bob out of this interview: RSN: How did you get your nickname, “Steamer”? BS: I guess it came from the steam engine, you know, Stanley Steamer. I steamed them down once in awhile. www.redsoxnation.net/index.php?showtopic=16569

So how did Ranardo pitch tonight? I had to mute when he was pitching because of this. There is no R in his name. This was terrible.

Of course, the Stanley Steamer ... obvious, should've thought of it immediately. A friend of mine loved those cars, used to go to car shows just to see working models.
Thanks!

Cecchini is in a nasty little slump right now.
Let's see how he adjusts.
