Sorry, I've been away for a while. Can someone remind me how the GCL and NYPL ended up for our affiliates?

GCL won its semi-final game but lost 2-0 in the best-of-three finals to GCL Nationals, who were far and away the best GCL team.
NYPL missed the postseason (they needed to win and have Jamestown lose on the last day and neither happened).

Thanks. And I've been enjoying John Grey's cups of coffee even more than usual as we march towards and into the playoffs. Thanks for that man.

with Buchholz coming off the 60-day ... DFA for somebody? Villareal? when/If Wilson RHP comes off later in the month ... somebody else maybe same thing.

Given how ineffective he's been recently, I wouldn't bet on Wilson coming off the DL this year. As for Clay, I'd give slight edge to a Beato DFA. I think he's more likely to clear than Villarreal. The latter at least has been a very good MLB reliever for a season. Remember, Beato already cleared waivers once, last December.

John does a great job, but not to take anything away from him, but we have a five-man team on the Cup that also includes, in no particular order, Jim Crowell, Luke Lavoie, James Dunne, and Tim Healey. All deserve that praise.

Since the thread has been opened up for discussion, I just wanted to point out that Luis Diaz has been on a two month roll that is borderline Mookie roll impressive.

Just a thought...
Looking at Diaz' profile, it appears to be quite dated. Not meant as a a criticism because coming into the season he wasn't even rated and we have few eyes in either of the cities he pitched in.
I would love to see Soxprospects attempt to get Evan Lepler {and Mike Antonellis} posting here. I find both to be very analytically informative in their broadcasts. Most of the other broadcasters in our system take more of a color commentator approach.
For the games I've listened to with Diaz pitching, about two, Even was generally praising Diaz on a variety of things.

Surprised Cuevas gets the start tonight over Diaz. Diaz would be on 6 days rest, so he's well rested and clearly the best pitcher they have.

I did not understand the intentional walk on Butler in the 9th to face Henry who already has 2 hits and is having a good series

I did not understand the intentional walk on Butler in the 9th to face Henry who already has 2 hits and is having a good series I'm going to guess it has to do with Henry's .201/.294/.286 line on the season, including a .142/.238/.189 since the start of July.
