Since the Marlins are happy to trade anyone and everyone. We could make a run at Jose Fernandez in the offseason.
The Marlins are looking to build so we could realistically give them Henry Owens, Ranaudo, Drake Britton and Hazelbaker.
Since this is the Trade Proposal and we all know how sweet it would be to get a young electric arm like Jose Fernandez we should do it.

The Marlins price tag for Fernandez would start at Xander Bogaerts.

Do we really have to include a stud like Hazelbaker in this package to get it done? Maybe headline a deal with Zach Kapstein and the rights to Shaq Thompson?

The Marlins want young guys who can play now, which is why I think Hazelbaker or Brentz would need to be included.

It would take Bogaerts, Bradley, and Ranaudo to just start the talks. I'll pass. The price is too high.

It'll take at least five of the top 15 guys to get that trade done. Plus, I don't see the Marlins trading him for a couple of years.

Until he at least hits arbitration, I don't think there's a less accessible player in baseball. The conversation doesn't start with Bogaerts, it starts with "no".

He has only burned just one season of club control, and just had possibly the second best age 20/21 seasons of any pitcher in modern baseball. There is practically no other pitcher in baseball who is more valuable and not making a kings ransom (with the exception of Matt Harvey who is hurt and 3 years older). Hell, he probably would make Stephen Strasburg cheap to acquire in comparison. I'm not trying to be rude, but there is absolutely no conceivable way for the Red Sox to get Miami to trade him.

I was just hoping my dreams could become a reality, but I guess even Jeffrey Loria wouldn't be this stupid.

Could you imagine the phone conversation for trying to get Fernadez. It'd be like a nerd asking a cheerleader to prom. "Hey...... umm... I was thinking..... would you like to trade Fernadez?" "Never call me again"

Since this is the Trade Proposal and we all know how sweet it would be to get a young electric arm like Jose Fernandez we should do it. This is you fantasizing. Not happening. Like it's been said. Would practically have to empty out the farm system. Loria isn't that dumb. When he made the dumb mistake of "going for it now" and signing expensive free agents and that didn't work out, he was smart enough to cut his losses and trade those players for young talent. He's not the brightest guy in the world, but he's not catatonic. At this point Jose Fernandez might be the most valuable commodity in baseball. And like Felix Hernandez EVENTUALLY he'll be in a bunch of trade rumors (once his salary rises too high), and unlike him he'll eventually be dealt unless the Marlins are competing in the future which isn't completely out of the realm of possibility. In that case he might play out his six years and walk. Good rule of thumb. If you think a deal is a ripoff for the Sox and a moronic move by the other team don't bet on that happening. The last time the Sox were recipients in that kind of deal was when Zimmer and Frey teamed up to deal Lee Smith to the Red Sox for Calvin Schiraldi and Al Nipper.

I was totally fantasizing. Dreaming of the days when Buchholz and Fernandez were the one two punch.
Plus I think the Marlins could be contending in around 3-5 years.
Loria has done really really stupid things like this before so I guess I just "was hopeful"
