I read reports Carlos Santana has fallen out of favor as the starting catcher in Cleveland and are looking for a starting pitcher in return. I personally would give up Webster and Lavarnway. I then re-sign Salty and play Santana as my 1st baseman and backup catcher in a perfect world or just to be my starter depending on Salty's price tag. WHat would you all give up or would you not touch him at all?

You probably read that Gomes is the primary catcher now, but that doesn't mean they want to trade Santana. He's entering his prime and his bat plays fine at 1B/DH, and he's got 3 years plus a team option on an outstanding contract for the club. Shapiro hangs up the phone and ignores your calls for a few months if you offer Webster and Lavarnway for him.

plus, if you don't see him as a C, then he's not worth nearly as much for just the bat (still maybe Lav and Webs, but not way more the way he would be as a legitimate C with that bat.)
