Exciting day on the mound... Yeah.....I cannot contain myself! I knew Portland, after Owens, was going to be rough, but darn I thought days like this were going to be few this year (with respect to our starters).

When Barnes is off the DL, Pawtucket alone will have someone interesting going almost every day, especially if Workman goes down to start when Breslow's off the DL. And, hey, Mario Alcantara is an interesting arm ...

Myles Smith is scheduled to piggyback Alcantara. Anyone see Myles down in spring training? Curious if he has gained any weight...very intriguing arm and seemingly has the repotoire to start if his body can hold up

All pitchers, excluding tonight's starters and Myles Smith (who is expected to piggyback tonight), on a full-season active roster have gotten at least one appearance over the opening weekend.
All position players, excluding Justin Henry (who is in Pawtucket's lineup tonight), Peter Hissey (who pinch-ran and played defense in yesterday's game but did not have a PA) and Michael Brenly, on a full-season active roster have made at least one plate appearance over the opening weekend.

FWIW, Henry was away from the team for the birth of his child. Wonder what Boomer Esiason thinks about that.

Hernandez with an interesting line.
It would be great if he pitches himself into reverence.

Acre "I'm keeping the paw sox ss job warm for marrero". Menenes with a double e night so far.
Hernandez gets so many balls in play I wonder what his stats were with and without Iggy the past three years or so.
If someone reads that as a challenge u b correct.

I "lucked" into several of his starts in Manchester and it always mystified me how he got as many outs as he did. But he did get them, and I don 't remember Iggy being a significant factor.

It would be great if he pitches himself into reverence. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Hernandez gets so many balls in play I wonder what his stats were with and without Iggy the past three years or so. I "lucked" into several of his starts in Manchester and [he] always mystified me... Seems he pitched someone into reverence. (I apologize, as I know this was a typo, but it's too politely humorous/Freudian to pass up. In all seriousness, can I use some of this as my new signature?)
